Exploring Kashmir: Portraiture with Oppo Reno 11 Series

Shot on Reno 11 Series

Our photographic expedition commenced at the heart of Srinagar, within the vibrant streets of Lal Chowk. Backdropped by the imposing Ghanta Gar, we embarked on a journey, equipped with the Oppo Reno 11 series. Guiding our group was the esteemed Parveen Sir, whose mentorship illuminated the path towards capturing the quintessence of portraiture.

Navigating through the bustling market, Parveen Sir's expert direction led us to moments frozen in time, each captured frame encapsulating the essence of Kashmir's allure. With the adept assistance of Parveen Sir, meticulous attention was given to every detail, ensuring the perfection of each composition.

Our itinerary then led us to the iconic Jamia Masjid, where the tranquil ambiance provided an ideal backdrop for our creative endeavors. Against the backdrop of ancient architecture, we immortalized portraits that resonated with the spirit of Kashmir.

Following a brief interlude for a nourishing lunch at Dal Lake's Ghat No. 1, our expedition continued to Shankaracharya Temple. Surrounded by an aura of spirituality and serenity, we captured portraits amidst the temple's timeless grandeur.

Our exploration of Kashmir, guided by the lenses of the Oppo Reno 11 series, not only resulted in captivating portraits but also forged connections with the beauty and tranquility of this timeless land. Each captured moment serves as a cherished memory, encapsulating the enchantment of Kashmir's landscape for posterity.

The Gulmarg Gondola ride is a
widely renowned activity exclusively offered in Gulmarg town in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, India. Known to be the
second-highest and the second-longest cable car in the world, it attracts thousands of tourists and thrillseekers throughout the year. It is a two-stage gondola lift that has the potential to ferry approximately 600 individuals per hour from and to Kongdoori Mountain. This brilliant ropeway project is a joint venture of the government of Jammu and Kashmir and a French company named Pomagalski. The first stage of the Gulmarg Gondola was finished in 1998, and the second stage took two years to complete and was opened in 2005. An additional third phase was added to the Gulmarg Gondola back in 2011 for skiing enthusiasts, which features 90 chairlifts connecting Kongdoori to
Mary’s Shoulder.
The Gulmarg Gondola ride is a fun recreational activity and is one of the prime highlights of Gulmarg tourism. It has been operational for more than two decades now, offering a unique experience to tourists. Individuals of nearly all ages can participate in this fun activity when they visit Gulmarg in Jammu and Kashmir. In this activity, individuals get to ride a cable car that takes them from Gulmarg to Kungdoor Station and then Kongdoori Mountain to Apharwat Peak. At the stops, visitors can spend time amidst the snow-capped mountains and tall pine trees and grab a hot cup of coffee while soaking in the panoramic scenic views.

At a distance of 33 km from Srinagar, Charar-e-Sharif is a Sufi Muslim shrine and mosque situated in the town of Charari Sharief in the Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir. Popularly known as the Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Wali, it is considered one of the holiest places for Muslims in India and among the top places to visit as part of Srinagar packages.

Charar-e-Sharief is around 600 years old shrines built to commemorate Sheikh Noor-ud-din or Nund Rishi, who is regarded as the Patron saint of Kashmiris. Sheikh Wali was the first person to preach Rishism in the valley and propagated non-violence, vegetarianism, communal harmony, and tolerance. It is said that when he died in 1438, about 9-lakh ardent followers gathered at the Charar-e-Sharief to pay homage to him. His remains were buried at this shrine and ever since it holds significant religious importance. Later, the eighth sultan of the valley Zain-ul-Abidin laid the foundation stone of the Charar-e-Sharief shrine at the burial site in 1446. Later in the 19th century, an Afghan governor named Atta Mohammad Khan reconstructed the shrine.

Having a splendid heritage of more than 600 years, it is counted amongst the oldest places of worship in the entire Kashmir Valley. The tomb of Sheikh Noor-ud-din Noorani here has been famously called Alamdar-e-Kashmir. This shrine has a wooden structure, which was destroyed during the Indo-Pak war and the militant attack in 1995. However, local authorities carried out the restoration work, and Charar-e-Sharief was brought back to its normal form.
