Deputy Commissioner Reasi chair meet to Review School Education Department.

Reasi, January 27: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Reasi, Ms. Nidhi Malik,IAS conducted a comprehensive review of the School Education Department to ensure the efficient implementation of various educational schemes and initiatives in the district. The review encompassed staff strength, mid-day meal programs, scholarship schemes, the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, and works under District Capex/UT. Chief Education Officer (CEO) Deepak Gupta presented a detailed overview of the department's functioning and achievements.

During the meeting, the DC directed Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) to conduct field visits at least three to four days a week and develop a standardized format for daily reporting to enhance accountability and ensure the smooth functioning of schools.
DC Ms. Nidhi Malik emphasized the need for proper monitoring of infrastructure, electricity, and the quality of mid-day meals to provide a conducive learning environment.
DC also instructed the CEO to collaborate with the Lead District Manager (LDM) to facilitate the opening of bank accounts for all students, enabling them to access scholarship benefits seamlessly. Strict action was mandated against non-performing or frequently absent teachers to maintain discipline and productivity in the system.

Additionally, Deputy Commissioner directed the utilization of available grants to procure books for primary students to improve their reading skills. She urged the Education Department to work in coordination with the Planning Department to prepare detailed and well-structured reports, including components and field visit outcomes. Ms. Malik reiterated her commitment to ensuring quality education in the district and instructed all stakeholders to work diligently toward achieving the department's goals. The meeting was attended by CEO, ZEO and other officials of education department and underscored the administration's focus on strengthening the education sector for the holistic development of students.

DC Reasi Reviews Progress of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department.

Reasi, January 23: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Reasi Ms. Nidhi Malik, IAS convened a comprehensive review meeting to assess the functioning of the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department. The meeting focused on evaluating the progress and impact of key schemes and projects in rural areas, including the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G), Swachh Bharat Mission-Gramin (SBM-G), and initiatives under the Aspirational Block Development Programme (ABDP), Area Development Fund (ADF), and the Capex Budget.

During the meeting, Deputy Commissioner conducted a detailed assessment of ongoing works and directed the Block Development Officers (BDOs) to remain stationed in their respective blocks, actively inspect projects, and coordinate with Assistant Executive Engineers (AEEs) to ensure timely completion. She laid Special emphasis on accelerating progress under MGNREGA, with instructions to compile detailed work reports. To enhance rural infrastructure and connectivity, DC emphasised strict adherence to quality standards and called for actionable plans to address gaps in implementation.

DC Ms. Malik further directed BDOs to work closely with Tehsildars to expedite recovery from defaulters under the PMAY-G scheme. Additionally, the Executive Engineer (XEN) of the Roads & Buildings Department was tasked with developing durable and cost-effective solutions for PMAY-G beneficiaries and taking strict action against contractors failing to execute assigned works. She reiterated the administration's commitment to fostering sustainable rural development through efficient implementation of government schemes and proactive field monitoring. ACD Pardeep Kumar , CPO Narinder Kumar and all BDOs were present.
