Israel Defense Forces struck the U.S.S. Liberty with 821 bombs, murdered 34 U.S.sailors, & injured 171 more. Two-thirds of the crew, injured or killed. The deadliest assault on a US ship since World War II?
Israel attacked its neighbors at the same time, prior to any declaration of war. A day of infamy. That's how the Apartheid Regime stole the West Bank, East Jerusalem, Golan Heights and Gaza Strip.
Israel's plan was to sink the ship & blame Egypt. But the Liberty didn't sink. Survivors said Israel Defense Forces bombers & Naval vessels were close enough that their personnel & flags could be plainly seen.
President Lyndon Baines Johnson ordered the U.S. Navy not to retaliate & survivors were threatened with prosecution if they revealed what happened. Johnson was afraid of being assassinated like President John F Kennedy.
