*A fierce Gunfight broke out between militants and government forces in Chandaji area in North Kashmir's Bandipora district on Tuesday*

As per reports a joint team of Police and Army launched a cordon and search operation in Chandanji.

As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off an gunfight.
As per the sources two to three militants are believed to be trapped.

Pulwama Jul 31 (VNP): Two militants have been killed in an encounter between government forces and militants in forest area of Namibian and Marsar on Sunday morning.

A senior police officer told the news agency—Valley News Point (VNP) that two militants have been killed while as the search operation is on in the area.

"Exact location of is between Namibian & Marsar, general area forest. 02 unidentified militants killed. Army and Police on job. Search is still going on." Kashmir Zone police tweeted.

Earlier, an official said that a joint team of Police, Army and CRPF launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.

He said that as the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, which was retaliated, triggering an encounter—(VNP)

Gunfight breaks out in Kulgam village

Kulgam, Jul 25 (KNO): A gunfight has been broke out between militants and security forces at Munand village of Yaripora area in south Kashmir's Kulgam district on Sunday morning, police sources said.

Police sources told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that a joint team of Police, Army and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation after “specific inputs” about presence of militants in Munand Yaripora.

“As the security forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, which was retaliated, triggering an encounter. Exchange of fire is going on, " they said.
