Drug Free Sopore

One drug peddler arrested, contraband substance recovered, case registered.

Sopore, 07 July 2023:

Continuing its drive against drug peddlers, a Police Party headed by IC Police Post Watergam apprehended one drug peddler during naka checking at Dandoosa Crossing.

On his personal search 85 grams of charas like substance was recovered. The arrested drug peddler has been identified as: Javaid Ahmad Zargar S/O Bashir Ahmad Zargar R/O Behrampora Rafiabad.

To this effect, case FIR No. 52/2023, US 8/20 of NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Dangiwacha and investigation has been taken up.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt strictly as per law.

Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
