Poonch,Mon,16 Jan 2023: Advocate Abdul Majeed Khan, senior vice president of Hakme Azan Foundation, a non-governmental organization in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, criticized the central government while talking to the media. He has accused the central government of harassing the people of Jammu and Kashmir in the name of government land, which has created an atmosphere of terror among the people. Addressing media representatives at the organization's headquarters in Poonch, he said that if the Jammu and Kashmir administration further disturbed the people in the name of government land, then his organization would be forced to protest on the streets.
He said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are already fed up with the central government's policies and recently the Lt Governor's administration has issued an order to dispossess people of government land, the Rishni Act and grazing land. On the order of the district administration, the concerned tehsildars have prepared and published the list for Bay Dakhli, which has created fear and panic among the poor people in Jammu and Kashmir, especially in the three districts of Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar in the Chenab region and in Rajouri Poonch in the Pir Panjal region. An atmosphere of harassment has been created. He said that even though the Roshni Act 2005 was passed by majority vote in both houses of the state government, it gave ownership rights to government land and people have also deposited money in the government treasury. He demanded the governor's administration to withdraw the undemocratic order immediately, otherwise the people would be forced to protest against the government on the streets.
