On Saturday, UGC NET applicants claimed that they have been constantly facing technical errors on the National Testing Agency website for the past two days while attempting to request an extension date for the December 2021 and June 2022 (merged cycle) UGC NET examination submission forms, claiming that they have been unable to complete the form due to server down.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has tasked the NTA with conducting UGC-NET, a test that determines Indian nationals' eligibility for positions such as "Assistant Professor," "Junior Research Fellowship," and "Assistant Professor" in Indian universities and colleges. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will administer the UGC-NET in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode in 82 subjects in December 2021 and June 2022 (merged cycles) for 'Junior Research Fellowship' and eligibility for 'Assistant Professor' in 82 disciplines. The JRF seats for both the December 2021 and June 2022 UGC-NET cycles have been combined, although the criteria for subject- or category-wise JRF allocation has not changed.
On April 30th, the examination authority issued a notification regarding the UGC NET 2022 examination form. Candidates can submit their test forms from April 30th to May 20th (5:00pm) according to the announcement, with the correction option period set for May 21st to 23rd. Candidates, on the other hand, allege that they have been unable to submit their examination forms due to server down problems on the NTA website since the last two days before the deadline. However, this was the first time the NTA did not provide a deadline extension.
The NTA has only released two helpline lines, which applicants claim are difficult to reach after hours of constant dailing. They urge Dr Sadhana Parashar, the senior director of NTA tests, to help them improve their careers by resolving this issue as quickly as possible.
