A 56-Year-Old US Woman Gives Birth To Son And Daughter-In-Law’s Baby
The 56 year old grandmother offered to be a surrogate after the daughter-in-law had to undergo hysterectomy.

On social media platforms there are several stories of surrogacy floating. In one such incident, a mother turned surrogate and gave birth to her son and daughter-in-law’s baby in Utah, in the United States, according to a report in People.

The husband-wife duo were not left many options after the wife had to undergo hysterectomy (Removal of Uterus all or part of the uterus).

When Jeff Hauck’s 56-year-old mother Nancy Hauck offered the option to serve as surrogate mother of the future baby to him and his wife Cambria, he did not take it as a possibility.

However, it worked for the family and the 56-year-old gave birth to the couple’s fifth child – a daughter, the outlet further reported.

Mr Hauck, who is a web developer, called the whole experience “a beautiful moment.” “How many people get to watch their mom give birth?” he told People.

It is also reported that the 56-year-old was in labour for nine hours and called it “a remarkable and spiritual experience” to share as a family. The People report said that Ms Nancy Hauck is facing new emotions of having a baby, but not bringing the baby home with her.

She told the outlet, “It is a mix of deep gratitude and some sadness from the separation.”

As a tribute to the baby’s grandmother, the little girl has been named Hannah. Mr Hauck added that his mother woke up in the middle of the night and heard a voice saying “My name is Hannah.”
The grandmother, who works at the Utah Tech University, became confident the baby would be a girl, even without testing.

Cambira explained to People that “the name Nancy comes from Hannah. They both mean grace.”

According to the outlet, Dr Russell Foulk said that although it is “unusual for a mother to carry her grandchild, age is really not the limiting factor.” “Really, it goes to health, goes to the state of health of that individual,” he explains.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s “Yashoda” clears legal hurdles:
Latest Release of Yashoda movie of Samantha Ruth Prabhu, based on IVF Treatment has landed in a legal dispute with EVA IVF, now dispute has sorted out
Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s latest release Yashoda on OTT has landed in a legal soup after Hyderabad-based EVA IVF filed a defamation suit agains Yashoda at the Hyderabad Civil Court for projecting their fertility center in a negative light. Mohan Rao, the MD of EVA IVF claimed that certain portions of the film have tarnished their reputation and affected their fame in society.

Following the complaint, the court has directed the makers of the movie to hold back the film’s OTT release until December 30. However, it appears that the makers of Yashoda have arrived at a truce with the management of EVA IVF and have agreed to blur all the visuals of the center in the film within a week’s time.

Sivalenka Krishna Prasad, The producer of Yashoda Speaking at a press conference, he said, “We have decided to blur the logos of EVA in over 80 places in the film. We had no idea that an IVF center with the name EVA is operational and we would like to reiterate that it was just a coincidence and the film is a fictional work. We neither have the intention to demean an individual nor a hospital in that regard. As the issue was brought to our notice, we are blurring all the visuals and muting the related dialogues in Yashoda. Considering the technical issues, the court and the EVA IVF management have agreed to give us a week’s time to complete the process. The OTT version of the film will not have any visuals or audio pertaining to EVA IVF. I take this opportunity to thank the EVA group for their cooperation.”

The MD of EVA IVF Mr. Mohan Rao said, “We served notices to protect our center’s reputation in society and would want other filmmakers to know about our work in the city. We are pleased with the resolution provided by the makers and we are also happy with the revised cut. We would like to thank the makers of Yashoda for rectifying the issue peacefully.”

Released on November 11, Yashoda also features Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Unni Mukundan as the MD and doctor of a surrogacy facility center. Directed by Hari-Harish, the film is running to packed houses in its third week in the Telugu States.

Last week Coleiro Preca had shared her concerns on the ongoing debate over the IVF bill, saying she was concerned by the polarised debates currently under way. She said she was willing to be a mediator in the debate on the proposed amendments to the Embryo Protection Act.

A desperate mom embezzled more than £92,000 from her employer to pay IVF, That gave her twins:
Debbie Stevenson, resident of Boldon Colliery, Tyne and Wear. She was working as bookmaker she stole cash from her employer company because she was so desperate for another child, She used money to pay for costly fertility treatment, involving trips to Greece, Finally she gave birth to twins but continued siphoning off money from the firm. 37 years old Debbie Stevenson has admitted embezzling £92,181.64 in the court, but is yet to be sentenced

She started stealing the cash from the packaging firm The Pitreavie Group in Glenrothes, Fife, until January 2017, she worked as a bookkeeper since 2014.

She used the money to pay for costly fertility treatment, involving trips to Greece, and gave birth to twins in 2015.

She also has an 18-year-old son, She feared she would be sent to prison and parted from her children, Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court was told.

A judge deferred sentence to allow assessment of suitability for a restriction of liberty order. Stevenson admitted embezzling a total of £92,181.64 from her employers.

Scott McKenzie, defending, said: ‘She started embezzling from the company primarily to fund IVF treatment.’

He said the treatment involved significant costs, but her offending continued even after her children, now aged two-and-a-half, were born.

Stevenson’s husband Michael was training to be an engineer, and Mr McKenzie said: ‘She did end up under significant financial pressure.’

He said she was ashamed about her behaviour, particularly in relation to the company director, and added: ‘She does realise the company suffered financial losses. She appreciates this is not a trivial offence.’

Mr McKenzie said Stevenson posed a low risk of reoffending and stressed the impact on the family if she was behind bars.

He said: ‘As far as the twins are concerned, there is no familial support in the area. Her husband works full time. He would have to give up his work to look after the children.’

Sheriff Gilchrist deferred sentence for three weeks to allow for assessment of the suitability of Stevenson’s home for the curfew order.

Baby is born in China by IVF after parents died in car crash 4 Year Back:
Chinese Grandparents have won a long legal battle for custody of frozen embryos left by the parents who died in car crash 4 years back.

According to Chinese Media the baby has been born to a surrogate mother

Deceased couple Shen Jie and Liu Xi had been married for two years when they decided to try IVF. Five days before they were scheduled to transplant one of the fertilized embryos into Liu, the couple died in a car accident in March 2013 in the Chinese coastal province of Jiangsu.

For the next three years, the parents of Shen and Liu fought for the rights and legal custody to four frozen embryos left by their late children in a complicated and unprecedented legal case

After winning custody of embryos in court, In January 2017 parents got help from underground surrogacy agency, they drove to Laos to find a mother. Its important to know that Surrogacy is illegal in China. Couple who needs surrogacy and who can afford it, they can go to other countries for potential options.

The grandparents had to clear several hurdles to transport the embryos out of China and prove the paternity and nationality of the baby once it was born.

In December last year, Shen and Liu’s baby, a boy, was born in a hospital in Guangzhou. Liu’s mother gave him the name Tiantian, or “sweet”. Last month, the family celebrated Tiantian’s first 100 days by holding a small party.

Liu’s mother, Hu Xinxian, told Beijing News: “Tiantian’s eyes look like my daughter’s but overall, he looks more like his father.”
After the birth there have still been legal complications. The new grandparents had to carry out DNA tests to prove their relationship to Tiantian and keep custody.

The grandparents have not decided how to tell Tiantian about his background. Shen Xinan, Tiantian’s paternal grandfather, told Beijing News that until Tiantian is older they will tell him his parents are overseas.

“This boy is destined to be sad on his arrival into the world. Other babies have their fathers and mothers, but he doesn’t. We will definitely tell him in the future. How can we not?” Shen said.

Melbourne IVF clinic uses smart TV app to consult Chinese fertility patients:
Melbourne based IVF Clinic is now uses a new digital subscription service which will help Chinese couples, they will be using a smart TV app to talk to Australian fertility experts.

Melbourne based fertility clinic Monash IVF has shared with the platform BabySmart so couples in China can have face-to-face consultations with Australian clinicians and experts.

The clinic began offering IVF services to Chinese couples in 2017 after signing an agreement with Melbourne-based AC International Medical Tourism, which targets the Chinese market. But the demand for IVF has reportedly highly increased in China since 2016 when the country phased out its one-child policy and began allowing married couples to have two children.

Monash IVF’s Dr Ken Leong said the idea behind the new platform was to connect Australian experts “to the largest healthcare market in the world”.

“Chinese consumers who are looking for services could log on and can book a time to connect with, not just doctors in Victoria but other healthcare professionals like genetic counsellors, physiotherapists, dieticians,” he told ABC Radio Melbourne’s Jon Faine.

Louise Johnson, chief executive of the Victorian Assisted Reproductive Treatment Authority (VARTA), said there were no regulations covering couples from overseas seeking IVF treatment in Australia.

“Anybody can access the services of a clinic if they choose to travel, and many Australians access services overseas,” she said. “Similarly, on occasions, people from overseas come to Australia to access assistive reproductive services.”

She said the care of patients from overseas was subject to the same regulatory controls governing treatment of Australians.

Dr Leong said the Chinese health system focused on hospital treatment.

“Patients are unwell, they go to hospital, they get a number, they queue up and there’s millions of them doing that,” he said.

“Patients wait a long time and then by the time they get to the end of the queue and see a doctor the interaction is often very short.”

He said wealthy and middle-class Chinese patients often travelled abroad for treatment.

“It’s a current trend, it’s already happening.

“They’re going to the US, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore and surrounding areas like Thailand.

He said he believed health care would eventually become one of Australia’s biggest exports.

While admitting the digital subscription platform was “not suited to all aspects of medicine”, Dr Leong said couples with fertility problems would benefit from an online face-to-face consultation.

“In the fertility arena there’s lots of questions, in fact very basic questions that would come up.”

He said the platform gave clinicians the ability to have a “good chat” with patients to ascertain whether or not they required IVF treatment.

Bourn Hall Clinic is providing new service to help overcome recurrent miscarriage:
The new Pre-implantation Genetic Screening (PGS), which can detect chromosome abnormalities and very much helpful in selection of embryo which most likely to thrive.

Miscarriagae is always heart breaking for couples whoe eagerly searching happiness in baby, same thing was happend with Michelle Rose who lost ten natural pregnancies – and her first marriage failed under the strain.

So when she and Alastair Rose got together in 2007 they knew, because of her history, it wouldn’t be easy to conceive naturally and eventually decided to go down the IVF route. Their long-awaited daughter, Isobel Phoenix Rose, was born in 2012.

Michelle, 37, is one of a number of women who suffer the devastation of repeated miscarriage, often for reasons that cannot be fully explained medically.

Now fertility experts at Bourn Hall, which has clinics in Norwich, Colchester, Cambridge and King’s Lynn, is offering a new service that may give hope to some of those affected.

Although there are many reasons for recurrent miscarriage, but a common cause is thought to be that the embryo has the wrong number of genetical problem exist in chromosomes, preventing it from developing correctly and causing the pregnancy to fail. Bourn Hall Clinic says it is introducing Pre-implantation Genetic Screening (PGS), which will be helpful to detect chromosome abnormalities and help the embryologist select the embryo most likely to thrive.

Science director Martyn Blayney says: “Embryos that have too few or too many chromosomes are known as aneuploid. The risk of this increases with age, but it may also be the result of smoking or other environmental factors. PGS may be advised for some patients, particularly those who have experienced recurrent miscarriage following a natural or IVF conception; repeated implantation failure or where the woman is over 35 and her egg quality is poor.”

Bourn Hall says it has teamed up with CooperGenomics, a global leader in reproductive genetics, to be one of only a handful of UK clinics to offer patients the new genetic test that will screen embryos for chromosome irregularities.

The test takes place within the IVF cycle, after eggs have been fertilised and embryos grown for about five days in the incubator.

“A few of the cells that would otherwise have become part of the placenta are removed for testing in the CooperGenomics laboratory and in the meantime all the embryos are frozen,” says Mr Blayney. “The results are sent back to the embryologist at Bourn Hall and normal embryos identified for subsequent transfer in a frozen embryo transfer cycle.

“The scientific and medical evidence supporting the use of PGS is encouraging, but more robust clinical and laboratory trials are needed to assess whether or not PGS significantly increases live birth rates.”

Michelle, who lives in Stowmarket, doesn’t know if the new test would have helped her but says it’s definitely something she would have considered.

“Anything that could help stop someone going through the pain of repeated miscarriage has got to be good,” she says. “It’s a heartbreaking situation to find yourself in and you question why it’s happening to you. When you start trying for a baby you never even consider that could be a possibility.”

After losing ten natural pregnancies and one conceived through IVF Michelle was almost ready to give up her dream of becoming a mum. The emotional cost was becoming too great to bear. Fortunately, however, she was persuaded to have one last try.

“Isobel is absolutely brilliant,” says Michelle. “I’ve always wanted to be a mum and although it took 12 years of trying she has certainly been worth it”.

Michelle was referred for investigation at a London hospital in 2010. Tests revealed that only one fallopian tube was functional and that was damaged. All of her miscarriages, which had happened within 11 weeks, could in fact have been ectopic (when a fertilised egg implants itself outside the womb).

However, she says, no conclusive reason was given for her fertility problems and she and Alastair were told their only way to have a baby was by IVF.

The couple were referred for NHS-funded IVF and chose Bourn Hall’s Colchester clinic. They started their fertility treatment in January 2011. Sadly, that first attempt failed, when Michelle began bleeding soon after she’d had a positive pregnancy test. It turned out she’d had a chemical pregnancy, when a fertilised egg does not attach itself to the uterine wall.

“This was the first time I ever felt like giving up,” says Michelle. “But as it got nearer to us being able to try again I realised that if we didn’t take this opportunity we would regret it.”

In September 2011 the couple started their second cycle of NHS-funded IVF on a slightly different treatment plan, to try and improve the quality of eggs that Michelle produced. This time, it was successful. Isobel was born via emergency caesarean section on July 9, 2012 – five weeks prematurely after Michelle developed pre-eclampsia and her waters broke unexpectedly. Although she had arrived early and in dramatic fashion, their daughter was perfect.

“I have got my miracle,” says Michelle. “Thank goodness I never gave up.”

Mediterranean diet may improve IVF success rate upto 70 % due to Antioxidants to support Embryo growth:
A Mediterranean diet can greatly increase a woman’s chances of having a baby through IVF due to antioxidents present in Fruits and Vegetables, scientists say.

Women in a trial who ate more fresh vegetables, fruit, whole grains, legumes, fish and olive oil while undergoing the treatment had an almost 70 per cent better chance of conceiving than women eating less healthily.

Researchers from Harokopio University of Athens believe antioxidants in fruit and vegetables improves the quality of a woman’s eggs and also protects the womb, as when its lining is damaged it can be harder to become pregnant.

Researchers asked 244 women how often they ate certain groups of food in the preceding six months before they were given a MedDiet Score, which ranged from 0-55, with higher scores indicating greater adherence to the Mediterranean diet

The diet contains only a small amount of red meat but rich in whole grains, which can boost the quality of an embryo. Dr Nikos Yiannakouris, co-author of the study, said – ‘Women attempting fertility treatment should be encouraged to eat a healthy diet, such as the Mediterranean diet, because this may help increase the chances of successful pregnancy.

‘Our results suggest that the beneficial effect of the Mediterranean diet could be through increasing embryo survival.’

The effect was particularly strong for women under 35 who ate in this way for six months before having fertility treatment.

Dr Jane Stewart, chairman of the British Fertility Society, said: ‘A Mediterranean diet has long been thought of as a healthy approach to eating.

New Study Shows Frozen Embryos gives same result as fresh embryo in live birth:
Frozen embryos are just as likely to result in a successful pregnancy as fresh ones, a new landmark study suggests.

Researchers discovered the technique, considered ‘controversial’, was slightly more effective in terms of live birth rates.

The new results, set to be published in The New England Journal of Medicine, were drawn from a trial of nearly 800 infertile women.

Frozen embryos resulted in pregnancies for 36 per cent of women – compared to 35 per cent in the fresh group, the ‘reassuring’ study found.

They were also more likely to result in children being born alive, with 34 per cent in the frozen group compared to 32 per cent in the fresh.

The ‘important’ findings dispute Government figures from 2010 that revealed frozen embryos were 10 per cent less likely to result in pregnancy.

The latest findings, led by Australian and Vietnamese researchers, offer more hope of making it the main option for IVF treatment in future.

Professor Ben Mol, co-author, based at the University of Adelaide, described the study as ‘important news for infertile women worldwide’.

Lady Victoria Hervey begins IVF treatment, has made a ‘back up plan’ for a baby by freezing egg:
Famous Hollywood star 41 year old Lady Victoria Hervey has begun IVF treatment as she looks to become a single mum in the future. She started IVF treatment by injecting her first hormone injections Yesterday to boost her ovaries egg supply

Speaking to The Sun Online, she said: “Yes, it’s true. It’s something I have been thinking to do for many years as a smart back up plan. “I started the egg freezing process recently and began my first injections today.

“I plan to freeze them for now. I wanted to give myself the option of becoming a mother and knew after 40 unless you have your eggs frozen your chances rapidly decrease.

“I’m really happy with my decision although the injections are not going to be easy.”

The success rate for women willing to conceive through IVF is slowly decreasing, 13.6 per cent for women aged 40-42, 5 per cent for 43 to 44 and 1.9 per cent for women over 44, according to NHS.co.uk.

Egg freezing process is similar to the IVF pathway, with women having a course of injections to stimulate the ovaries so several eggs can be collected, followed by the egg collection procedure. The collected eggs are then fast-frozen using a technique called vitrification, which very quickly transforms them to a glass-like state.

Lady Victoria is currently single, living in Hollywood but in past she was in relationships with several celebrities, most notably Danish restaurateur Mogens Tholstrup, F1 driver David Coulthard and Boyzone’s Shane Lynch.

The aristocrat has previously admitted she would like to move back to the UK once she has children, so she can send them to public school there.
