'The Raven' by Edgar Allan Poe is one of the most seminal English poetic works of the 19th century. First published in January 1845, the poem is often noted for its musicality, stylized language, and supernatural atmosphere. It tells of a distraught lover who is paid a mysterious visit by a talking raven. The lover, often identified as a student, is lamenting the loss of his love.
The anthology "Evermore" features 57 poets worldwide with poems inspired by 'the Raven' and by Poe. My poem features as the first oeuvre in this book.

𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐬 & 𝐏𝐨𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞!
I welcome you to take part in a grand literary journey with me – our upcoming anthology titled “𝐓𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐞: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐢𝐬 𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧” !
Be a part of our anthology to explore the depths of fear and its various manifestations from psychological thrills to supernatural chills – stories, narrative and poems to keep you guessing until the very end.
𝐓𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐞 means darkness in Latin. This anthology is named thus since it explores the darkest of emotions -fear and its various manifestations. This anthology is for all those who love murky thrillers, edge of the seat suspense, get an adrenaline rush out of the paranormal, are crime story junkies or are fans of folklores and urban legends. It is also for those who love Edgar Allan Poe’s dark poems such as ‘The Raven’ which attempt to explore the fuliginous labyrinths of the human mind.
We are looking for an eclectic mix of not only stories, travelogues, personal accounts and poetry about paranormal experiences, haunted places, crime and folk lore but also any other fear or phobia one would have felt or heard about at any point of life or which could purely be figment of one’s imagination.
Please visit our website
https://inkfeathers.com/tenebrae-the-fear-is-within/
to check out the complete set of submission guidelines & contribute your take on fear and your interpretations of it!
Deadline for submissions 30th April 2023!
Happy Writing!
Looking forward to your contributions.
