The multibillion-dollar Lulu group will be investing Rs 3,500 crore in Tamil Nadu, Chairman and Managing Director of Lulu group MA Yusuf Ali announced, while attending the investors' meet of Tamil Nadu in Dubai, on Saturday, March 26. The meet was organised by the state government, as the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin is on a four-day tour of the Middle East to look for investments. The Lulu group will build two shopping malls and an export-oriented food processing unit.

ദുബൈ: റമദാനിൽ അർഹതപ്പെട്ടവരിലേക്ക്​ ഭക്ഷണപ്പൊതികൾ എത്തിക്കാൻ യു.എ.ഇ നടപ്പാക്കുന്ന വൺ ബില്യൺ മീൽസ്​ പദ്ധതിയിലേക്ക്​ ലുലു​ ഗ്രൂപ്പ്​ ചെയർമാൻ എം.എ. യൂസുഫലി 20 ലക്ഷം ദിർഹം (നാല്​ കോടി രൂപ) നൽകി. യു.എ.ഇ വൈസ്​ പ്രസിഡൻറും ​പ്രധാനമന്ത്രിയും ദുബൈ ഭരണാധികാരിയുമായ ശൈഖ്​ മുഹമ്മദ്​ ബിൻ റാശിദ്​ ആൽ മക്​തൂമിന്‍റെ നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ നടപ്പാക്കുന്ന പദ്ധതിയിലേക്ക്​ ഒരു ഇന്ത്യൻ സംരംഭകൻ നൽകുന്ന ഏറ്റവും വലിയ തുകയാണിത്​. മുഹമ്മദ് ബിൻ റാശിദ് ആൽ മക്തൂം ഗ്ലോബൽ ഇനീഷ്യേറ്റീവ്, യു.എൻ വേൾഡ് ഫുഡ് പ്രോഗ്രാം, മുഹമ്മദ് ബിൻ റാഷിദ് ചാരിറ്റബിൾ എന്നിവയുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തിലാണ് പദ്ധതി നടപ്പിലാകുന്നത്. 50 രാജ്യങ്ങളിലെ പാവപ്പെട്ടവരിലേക്ക്​ ഭക്ഷണമെത്തിക്കുന്ന പദ്ധതിയാണിത്​.
