DYSSO Ganderbal organises Inter Zone Annual Athletic Meet
GANDERBAL, SEPTEMBER 20: Department of Youth Services and Sports District Ganderbal organised an Inter Zone District Level Annual Athletic Meet for Boys (All Age Group) at Shiekh-Ul-Alam Public School Ground Kangan today.

A total of 214 Boys from across the District participated in such mega meet.

DYSSO Ganderbal, Sheikh Shafqat Iqbal was the organising Secretary of such meet While Mohmmad Shafi Bhat senior PET and other trained officials officiated the entire meet.

Before starting the competition a pledge was taken by the participants against the drug abuse under the banner of Nasha Mukht Bharat

At the end Gold, Silver and Bronze medals were awarded to the first three positions holders in each event.
The winners were appreciated and the losers were encouraged by the Zonal Physical Education Officer Hariganiwan / Kangan Raja Yaqoob and by the other Departmental Officials.

Departmental officials who were assigned duties for the smooth conducting of the said activity performed their duties in a versatile and made the Boys AAG Annual Athletic Meet successfull.
All arrangements were made in advance by the Department of DYSSO, Ganderbal.

DC Ganderbal chairs DMFT meeting

GANDERBAL, SEPTEMBER 20: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir today chaired the District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMFT) meeting to discuss the plan and effective utilization of funds collected by the trust.

During the meeting, threadbare discussion was held regarding the utilization of funds available with the trust as per PMKKKY guidelines.

All the members gave their valuable suggestions regarding the utilization of funds in various sectors including education, sanitation, plantation and beautification and strengthening of embankments of Sindh nallah.

The DC gave necessary directions to DMO regarding formulation of plan for the year 2022-23 accordingly.

Meanwhile, the meeting also discussed the illegal mining activities in various mineral blocks of the district and DC gave necessary instructions to DMO for preventing such activities.

The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Development, Dr. Bashir Ahmad, District Mineral Officer (Member Secretary), Zulfikar Ali, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer, SE, R&B, besides other members of the DMFT.

DC Gbl inaugurates T-20 Cricket League at Qamaria Ground
GANDERBAL, SEPTEMBER 20: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir in presence of former cricketer AbidNabi today inaugurated T-20 Ganderbal Cup Cricket league organized by district administration in collaboration with NGO Voice for Peace and Justice and J&K Sports Council.
On the occasion, the DC interacted with players and urged upon them to vigorously participate in sports and athletic activities apart from pursuing their academics for their physical and mental health.
Around 32 teams of the district shall participate in a month long tournament in which 31 matches shall be played among different teams.
The inaugural match was played today between Ganderbal Gym Khana and HamdaniaSaloora at Qamaria Ground.
DC appreciated the organizers for organizing such tournaments in the district which shall promote sports spirit, identify and nurture the talent for higher levels.
He also complimented the former cricketer AbidNabi for his support in providing training to the players of the district and assured him all possible support for nurturing the talent of youth.
Among others, Chairman, Voice for Peace and Justice, Farooq Ganderbali and locals were present on the occasion.

Today on 20-09-2022, under Community Action Program, a special event was organized at District Police Lines Ganderbal in which SSP Ganderbal Shri Nikhil Borkar-IPS distributes Wheel chairs and Hearing Aids among differently abled persons, and bags with Stationery among needy children of the District.

More than sixty specially abled persons were provided with wheel chairs and hearing aids. Moreover sixty needy students were provided school bags with Stationery.

SSP Ganderbal interacted with the Beneficiaries and assured them all possible support from Police department to make their lives easy and comfortable. While interacting with them, he said that the persons with physical challenges need to be taken care of by the society. He further stated that Police department will always play its eminent role in this regard. He advised the Police officers and Jawans to show empathy and kindness towards such segment of the society and come forward with helping hands to make them feel part and parcel of the society. He also asked the Beneficiaries not to allow their physical hindrances and infirmities to come in their ways and to stay active in their lives in pursuits that suit them.

DySP DAR Ganderbal Shri Muzaffar Jan-JKPS, RI DPL Ganderbal, LO DPL Ganderbal and other senior Police officers were also present on the said occasion.
