New quarantine facility in Phuentsholing consecrated

The 400-bed temporary quarantine facility in Phuentsholing, located along the Toorsa embankment was consecrated yesterday.
With this, there are now 1,000-bed quarantine facilities in high-risk areas across Phuentsholing, Gelephu, Samdrupjongkhar, and Samtse. The other three thromdes have a 200-bed facility each.
The King of Bhutan commanded the construction of the quarantine facilities.
The rooms in the Toorsa quarantine centre are furnished with necessary items such as utensils, pillow covers, quilts, bed covers, and towels. Each room has a television. The compound also has CCTV cameras.
About 300 de-suups, RBA personnel, Build Bhutan Project employees completed the construction in about 50 days.
Meanwhile, the facility will house Bhutanese returning from abroad and foreign workers. The facilities will be handed over to the drungkhag office and the quarantine services are expected to start by next week.
