“I’m Dhruv Lohumi, the host of India's Greatest Journeys - Dakshin Gangotri, an audio docuseries based on real-life adventures of some of India's bravest officers, starring my hero, my father, Lt. Col Hem Lohumi.
On the surface, my loving father and I couldn't be more different. He’s summited mountains and trekked to Antarctica, while I’ve often felt lost in his shadow. Growing up, I constantly heard people say I was just like him, and even he would insist that I was more capable than he ever was.
But that shadow felt heavy. His accomplishments loomed large, and I struggled under the weight of those comparisons. I found myself resenting the pressure to measure up to his greatness.
As I chased my own dreams, though, I started to see things differently. I realized that we share something deeper than our differences. Our journeys may look different, but at our core, we’re driven by the same passion.
This series brings my childhood fascination to life, allowing me to document the incredible stories I grew up hearing from my father.
