By Air: The nearest airport is Agra Airport (Kheria Airport), about 13 km from the Taj Mahal. However, Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, located around 220 km away, is a more popular option with better connectivity. From Delhi, you can take a train, bus, or taxi to Agra.

By Train - Khajuraho Railway Station: Located about 6 km from the town, it is connected to major cities like Delhi, Agra, Jhansi, and Varanasi. Although there aren’t many direct trains, it’s a convenient option.

By Road- From Delhi: The distance is around 620 km, and you can drive or take a bus. It’s a long drive but a great option if you enjoy road trips.

From Jhansi: This is about 175 km away, and there are buses and taxis available. It takes around 4-5 hours to cover this distance.

From Varanasi: The distance is about 400 km. Buses, cabs, or trains are options for this route, and it offers scenic landscapes.

India, is one of the world’s oldest centers of learning, dating back to around the 5th century CE. It was a renowned ancient Buddhist monastic and scholastic institution that attracted students and scholars from across Asia, including China, Korea, Japan, Tibet, and Southeast Asia. It reached its peak during the Gupta Empire and later under the patronage of Emperor Harshavardhana and the Pala Empire.

The university was known for its vast library, which consisted of three main buildings, each filled with countless manuscripts and texts covering a wide range of subjects like Buddhist philosophy, logic, medicine, mathematics, astronomy, and more. It was a hub for intellectual exchange and played a crucial role in the spread of Buddhist thought throughout Asia.

The decline of Nalanda began around the 12th century when it was invaded and destroyed by Bakhtiyar Khilji’s army. The university lay in ruins for centuries until efforts to revive it began in the 20th century. In 2010, a modern reincarnation of Nalanda University was established, located near the ancient site. The new university focuses on interdisciplinary studies and aims to become a global center of learning once again.
Best Time: The ideal time to visit Nalanda is during the winter months, from October to March. During this period, the weather is cooler and more comfortable for sightseeing, with temperatures ranging between 10°C and 25°C. By Air: The nearest airport is in Patna, around 90 kilometers away from Nalanda. From Patna, you can hire a taxi or take a bus to reach Nalanda.

By Train: The nearest railway station is Nalanda Railway Station, which is well-connected to major cities in Bihar. Another option is Rajgir Railway Station, about 12 kilometers away.

Sun Temple of Konark, also known as the Konark Sun Temple, is a UNESCO World Heritage site located in the state of Odisha, India. Built in the 13th century by King Narasimhadeva I of the Eastern Ganga Dynasty, this temple is dedicated to the Sun God, Surya. The temple is famous for its stunning architecture, designed in the shape of a colossal chariot with twelve intricately carved wheels, drawn by seven horses. The structure is known for its detailed stone carvings, depicting various aspects of life, mythology, and celestial beings.

The main sanctum, or the deul, is now in ruins, but the surviving structures, like the audience hall (Jagamohan), exhibit the grand style of Kalinga architecture. The temple’s orientation allows the first rays of the sun to strike its main entrance, symbolizing its connection to the Sun God. The Konark Sun Temple is not only a symbol of architectural brilliance but also holds great historical and cultural significance.

Ride with Rudra - The Gomateshwara statue of Bahubali, located in Shravanabelagola, Karnataka, is an iconic symbol of Jain heritage and spirituality.
Bahubali was the son of King Rishabhanatha, the first Tirthankara (spiritual teacher) in Jainism. The story of Bahubali is central to Jain teachings. According to legend, after a fierce battle with his brother Bharata, Bahubali realized the futility of worldly power and chose to meditate and seek spiritual enlightenment. The statue was commissioned by Chavundaraya, a minister and commander of the Ganga Dynasty, around 981 A.D.
The statue is carved out of a single block of granite and stands about 57 feet tall (17.5 meters). It is considered one of the tallest monolithic statues in the world.

The site and the statue have been under the care of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to ensure its preservation.
The best time to visit Gommateshwara (Bahubali) in Shravanabelagola, Karnataka, is during the cooler months from October to March. During this period, the weather is pleasant, making it ideal for exploring the site and climbing the hill to reach the statue.
Shravanabelagola is about 145 km from Bengaluru, Karnataka’s capital.

Hampi, furthermore in Karnataka, is situated on the banks of the magnificent river Tungabhadra and is the most prominent of all the ancient sites in India, having been maintained in nearly perfect condition.

The historical remains and material objects go back to the mediaeval era and were constructed throughout the magnificent Vijaynagar Empire. Hampi’s remains are indeed a UNESCO World Heritage Category, and the complex’s structures and temples are spectacular. Don’t miss the Vijaya Vittala Temple, Monkey Temple, Virupaksha Temple, Queen’s Bath, and other noteworthy sights inside the region.

Hubli Airport is 167.3 kilometers distant, while the Hospet railway terminal is 13 kilometers away. NH 48 and NH 50 can also be used to get to get there.
