In a noble initiative to provide admission opportunity to students of remote areas of District Kishtwar, in 'Super-30' Coaching Program an initiative for Joint Entrance Examination has been conducted by Indian Army for the students (Class XII) on 23 Jul 2022 at Bhandarkut, District Kishtwar.

Examination being selection opportunity an awareness campaign has been run to ensure maximum participation. 27 students of District Kishtwar appeared in the Entrance Examination. 'Super-30' Coaching Program is structured to impart free of cost scientific coaching by selected panel of teachers and assist the potential students to attain sucess in NEET Entrance Examination.

*Inauguration of 100 feet High Mast National Flag at Kishtwar*

Major General Ajay Kumar, General Officer Commanding, CIF (Delta) today inaugurated the 100 Feet High Mast National Flag at Kuleed Chowk,Kishtwar which is constructed by the Indian Army and dedicated it to the Awaam of Kishtwar.

The General Officer hoisted the National Flag in the presence of Commander, 9 Sector Rashtriya Rifles, Brigadier Pranab Misra,Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar,Ashok Kumar Sharma,SSP Kishtwar Shafqat Hussain and Commanding Officer, 17 Rashtriya Rifles (MARATHA LI) Colonel Ameya Chiplunkar.

On this occasion, the religious heads of all community also unveiled the New Martyrs Memorial.

The Martyrs Memorial has been constructed to honour all the brave martyrs of Kishtwar who laid down their lives fighting terrorism.

The project is the initiative of 17 Rashtriya Rifles (MARATHA LI) to instill pride in our Tiranga amongst the awaam. The installation of the high mast was completed in a record time of 40 days and is one of its kind in the Jammu region.

Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan Memorial Trust and Major Akshay Girish Foundation played a pivotal role in the ex*****on of the project. Public and Private companies, namely; NHIDCL, NHPC, Ratle Hydro Power Ltd, Patel Engineering, JayPee Constructions, AFCONs, Lokmanya Multipurpose Co-Op Society Ltd, Belgaum, Mangal Das Trust, Gogte Infra, Hyloc Hydrotechnic Pvt Ltd extended their generous support for the noble initiative.

The General Officer appreciated the efforts of Ashok Kumar Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar & Shafqat Hussain, SSP Kishtwar, for fast-tracking necessary permissions and clearances for the project and all assistance provided to the Army.

Awaam of Kishtwar also thanked the Distt administration and Indian Army for gifting them such a monument of National importance.

Drinking water pipes are broken in ,all the water is flowing out on the road but the concerned department is not paying attention, which is making it difficult for people to pass through here. For so many years, the road from Gudali Chowk to the mini bus stand has been inscribed, but no one is paying attention to it.

ARMY CONDUCTING STITCHING AND TAILORING COURSE AT SIGDI (MUGHAL MAIDAN), DISTRICT KISHTWAR (J & k

In a noble initiative towards providing self employment to local women, Army is conducting a Stitching and Tailoring course from 17 May 2022 to 17 Aug 2022 at the newly established Women Empowerment Centre at Village Sigdi (Mughal Maidan), District- Kishtwar (J&K). The course will enable poor women from remote areas and provide them opportunities towards earning a livelihood.

As part of the course, training is being imparted to thirty women. Also, Career Park Trust, a renowned name in the field of entrepreneurship and social Work, is also providing online guidance to the girls in designing and marketing. The course includes Stitching, Cutting and designing of cloths.

The training is targeted towards poor and rural women who would be given a platform to enhance their skills as also twelve machines (Embroidery and Stitching) will be handed over to them towards self-reliance and empowerment.

This initiative of Indian Army is being appreciated by the locals who are thanking the Army for providing such a unique platform for creating Self-reliance among women.

*Multiferious activities buzzed the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking 2022 celebration across District Kishtwar.*

_DC and SSP Kishtwar flaggs off the rally and vehicle to announce and spread awareness against Drug abuse_

Kishtwar 26 June 2022.

Social Welfare Department Kishtwar in collaboration with District Administration, Police administration and School Education Department Kishtwar today conducted multiferious activities to celebrate he International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking 2022 across district Kishtwar.

The main function was organised here at Main Bus Stand Kishtwar whereat numerous awareness Activities on "Say no to drugs" were conducted besides awareness regarding the celebration of this day was also highlighted on the occasion.

Deputy commissioner (DC) Kishtwar Ashok Sharma was Chief guest on the occasion and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) kishtwar Shafkat Hussain Bhatt was guest of honour on the occasion.

Among others who remained present on the occasion were District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO) kishtwar Zubair Ahmed,DySP HQ Ashish Gupta,AO DC office Kishtwar Imran Ahmed Kichloo,CEO Kishtwar Sudershan Kumar Sharma,SHO Kishtwar Abdul Bukhari, Media persons,staff of Socail Welfare Department, President transport and Drivers Association, students of various schools ,NCC and NSS cadets of GDC Kishtwar besides other Stakeholders.

During the programme the students performed Nukad Nattak and skits on the theme Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking and Nasha Mukht Bharat which was highly applauded by participants.

Meanwhile "Say no Drugs" pledge was administered to the students,Drivers NCC and NSS volunteers,locals and other commuters present on the occasion.

Various speakers made awareness to the people and students and stakeholders about the hazardous effects of drug abuse on the physical, mental & Social health of addicted one in particular and their family members in general besides enlightened the participants about the nefarious traps of drugs dealers to spread this menance in society.

Speaking on the occasion DC Kishtwar stressed the transport associations , general public, students and the police officials besides the civil administration officers and stakeholders to work in a collective manner to spread awareness against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking in the society so that this evil could be eradicated from the society and energy of youth is channelised in proper and positive direction for nation building.

He also appealed the general masses to co-operate the administration and bring forward the the addicted youth so that they get proper and timely guidance and counseling to come out of this evil.

Meanwhile, SSP Kishtwar enligtened the participants about various measure taken by Police administration to curb this menace in the district and various preventive and rehabilitation measure put in place to ensure the implemntation of anti-drug abuse mission at grass root level.

Various speakers also shared their personal experiences about how they got addicted and how they were helped to get out of it through proper and timely guidance and counseling by designated agencies and rehabilitation centres.

A felicitation ceremony for students spreading awareness against drug abuse were also held during the programme.

Earlier, the programme started with a rally flagged off by DC Kishtwar and SSP Kishtwar in presence of other District level officers from Dak bunglow Kishtwar which culminated at Main Bus stand Kishtwar wherein about 400 students from various govt and private institutions participated who raised Slogans and displayed the cards with different awareness messages written on these cards during rally.

Later, vehicle fitted with PAS and Display banners on it was flagged off by DC kishtwar , SSP Kishtwar in presence of other officers from general Bus stand Kishtwar to spread the awareness against the drug abuse throughout the market places of Kishtwar town and its adjoining area.

In addition to these activities, a Painting Competition was conducted by Social Welfare Department at GDC Kishtwar in the close Supervision of Principal GDC Kishtwar Dr Anirudh Sharma wherein students showcased their talent by making posters on the theme of this year's International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

At Girls Higher Secondry School (GHSS) Kishtwar, a Debate competition was held at under the supervision of Principal GHSS and other staff members where the students threw light on various aspects of drug abuse and its effects on the studies of students.

Similar awareness programmes were also held at various blocks of district Kishtwar in which PRIs and Youth Club members,prominant Citizens were involved to spread the awareness against Drug abuse.

Sideline the main function,while interacting with media persons DC Kishtwar briefed the Media persons that in order to eradicate the menance of drug Abuse and illicit trafficking in district , the district administration Kishtwar is strengthening it's anti-drug abuse and illicit trafficking measures in collaboration with the police administration, the local NGOs and locals.

District Administration has proposed to higher authorities for establishing a Drugs de-addiction and Rehabilitation centre at Kishtwar so that the youth inflicted with this evil get timely rehabilitation, he informed.

Kishtwar 26 June 2022.

District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kishtwar Ashok Sharma today visited the block Paddar of district Kishtwar to take first hand appraisal of the arrangements put in place ahead of the commencement of the Annual Shri Machail Mata Yatra 2022.

Enruote he inspected the common facility service sites for Yatries including designated Langar and Toilet sites.

He directed concerned executing agencies to expedite the pace of work to ensure the completion of works in stipulated time.

At SDM office Paddar, he conducted an interactive meetimg with local administration and PRIs.

DDC councilor Paddar Hari Krishan Chouhan , SDM Paddar Rishi Kumar sharma,BDO paddar Ravi Kumar, BMO Paddar Anil kumar besides other PRIs were present in the meeting.

During the interactive meet, the local PRIs highlighted various important issues regarding the smooth conduct of Yatra and Developmental scenario in shrine area.

The issues like installation of temperary toilets in the shrine area and enroute, maintenance of roads, registration of Yatries, Installation of solar lights from Gulab Garh to Machail and at langar and halts places, availability of Mobile network on the way to Machail, medical facilities, fixation of Bus fare from Gulab Garh to Kundail were threadbare discussed in the meeting.

After listening to their demands/issues, the District Development Commissioner Kishtwar informed them that about temporary toilet at six places would be installed from Thatri upto Gulab Garh Paddar to augument the existing facility so that pilgrims face no hurdles during Yatra.

He further informed the meeting that necessary directions have been given to concerned officers to put in place the necessary arrangements well before the commencement of Yatra which includes installation of Solar lights on reqiued places,establishment of zone wise health and security counters at various designated places, upgradation of road approaching to Shrine.

Besides DDC Kishtwar assured them district and local administration has made all the necessary provisions for the Registration of Yatries, installation of mobile towers for the pilgrims during the pilgrimage.

On the issue of fixation of bus fare in local routes like Gulab Garh to Kundail, DDC Kishtwar said that concerned officers/authorities have been given direction to ensure the implementation of same besides ARTO Kishtwar has been instructed to chalk out a comprehensive plan of traffic management during Yatra times for smooth and hassle free movement of vehicles.

Various other issued related to upgradation of developmental infrastrural in various Panchayats were also discussed .

DDC kishtwar further urged all the PRIs to work in tandem with local administration to make this holy Yatra a grand success.

Prompt action and lifesaving medical care of Indian Army, rescued two year old girl Arohi Thakur D/o Tilakraj Thakur resident of Hanzal, Navapachchi, Kishtwar, who was battling for life, after accidently consuming toxic medicine.

Arohi Thakur accidently consumed scabex lotion while playing in her house at village Hanzal. Immediately after that she started feeling dizzy and the same noticed by her parents. They rushed her to Navapachchi for immediate medical attention. On receipt of information from locals, medical team of Indian Army acted promptly and the girl was immediately attended by a medical team of Indian Army and provided lifesaving treatment to the girl, which could save her precious life.

**YOUNG SHOKAT HUSSAIN, A GIFTED BOY OF CHHATROO, KISHTWAR READY TO ROLL TOWARDS HIS DREAMS**

This is a story, of a specially abled boy with extraordinary spirit, from one of the remotest villages, Naidgam in Chhatroo Block of Kishtwar district, Jammu and Kashmir. Shokat Hussain, age Thirteen years, was born with Case of Cerebral Palsy with Mental Retardation with Locomotor disability however the Spirit with which he has moved on in life, is an inspiration for all.

Life in mountains is really tough but this has made Shokat Hussain even tougher, and strengthened his grit and resolve. He has always dreamt of becoming a Painter and lead a normal life. Life was going along normally for him until he was noticed by Rashtriya Rifles unit of Indian Army at Chhatroo in March 2022. Recognising his zeal & hardships Army stepped up to ease out his hardships. Efforts were made by Army to seek help from Social Welfare Office of Kishtwar and provide him with Hearing Aid and disability pension. In continuation of the same, finally on 23 March 2022, Social Welfare Department of District Administration Kishtwar provided a Hearing Aid to Shokat Hussain and his documents for disability pension have been processed.

Shokat Hussain is high on confidence, with his new Hearing Aid and pension, his resolve has become even stronger towards realizing his dream of becoming a Painter.

Speaking on the occasion,the DDC chairperson listed the achievements in the implementation of the flagship schemes including mobile network and road connectivity to far flung areas of Dachhan, Marwah and Warwan.

Listing the developmental scenario of district, chairperson briefed that the work on the Hydroelectric Power Projects Viz Pakal Dool HEPP, Kiru HEPP ,Kawar HEPP is in full swing has generated the Employement opportunities for youth of kishtwar besides the work on the Ratle HEPP, Karthia HEPP and Dul Hasti phase-2 HEPP will be started soon which will fully tap the power potential of the district and will bring the district on the world map in the arena of power generation.

During her speech she briefed that during the year 2021-22 under PMDP various left out habitation have been electrified, the Black-Topping of total of 208 km of roads have been completed besides the work on the road from Bhandarkoot to Nawapachi is in full swing.

Highlighting the achievements of Agriculture and allied sectors in the district, She said that 114 units of dairy farms have been sanctioned to farmers and under one product one district, Kishtwar district has been selected for walnut production and in this regard 96349 kanals of land have been covered under the scheme by Department of Horticulture besides various beneficiary schemes have been extended to the farmers by Agriculture Department.

She further said that in the health sector, to effectively tackle the Covid crisis in the district 3 Oxgen Generation Plants have been commissioned in the district this year besides 2 lakhs golden cards have been generated and 1227 patients with these cards have availed the health benefits worth Rs. 118 lacs.

Chairperson DDC Kishtwar, informed that 41 youth have been handed over with the small commercial vehicle to start their livelihood in transport sector under MUMKIN scheme this year.

Speaking on the occasion DDC Chairperson said that as for as the Developmental works undertaken in the District capex is concerned, an expenditure of Rs 160 crores have been incurred for the year 2021-22 which has geared up the Developmental tempo of district.

Concluding her speech, Chairperson DDC Kishtwar sought the cooperation of the people of Kishtwar in the implementation of the various schemes so that the benefits of the scheme could be reached at the door steps of people in a hassle free manner.

On the occasion, scintillating Cultural items were also presented by the students with due observance of COVID-19 protocol.

Besides, the District Administration gave away mementos and certificates of commendation to several officers for exhibiting exemplary work, ethics and professionalism besides meritorious students were also conferred with awards.

At Block level the National flag was hoisted by the concerned BDC chairpersons besides flags were hoisted at sub Divisional headquarters, tehsil and block headquarters ,in all the govt offices and Educational institutions.

Republic Day celebrations held at District Court Complex Doda.

Doda, January 26: As per the directions of Hon'ble the Chief Justice, High Court of Jammu & Kashmir & Ladakh for celebrating the Republic Day, National Flag was unfurled on the occasion of 73rd Republic day, at 10.30 A.M by taking salute through a police contingent of DPL, Doda in the District Court Complex, Doda by Mehmood Ahmed Chowdhary, Addl. District & Sessions Judge, Doda.

Judicial Officers of District Head Quarter, Doda namely, Mr. Sheikh Babar Hussain, District Mobile Magistrate (Traffic), Doda, Ms. Neena Thakur, Addl. Spl. Mobile Magistrate, Doda alongwith staff as well as APPs namely Mr. Rajesh Gill and Mr. Sunil Kumar Sharma along with Staff, police personnel and lawyers were present on the occasion.

Doda briefly spoke on the occasion and thanks the participants as well the police contingent participated in the salute ceremony. The event was celebrated with strict following of Covid-19 protocol issued by Government of U.T of J&K and Government of India.
