Vice Chancellor University of Jammu Releases Newsletter of Poonch Campus

Jammu, April 19: The Vice Chancellor University of Jammu Prof. Umesh Rai today released the Newsletter of JU'S Poonch Campus.

In a momentous event highlighting the academic prowess and community engagement of the JU'S Poonch Campus, Professor Umesh Rai, the Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu commended the efforts of Director Poonch Campus, Professor Rakesh Vaid, for the release of the Newsletter of Poonch Campus.

The Newsletter serves as a comprehensive showcase of the remarkable achievements and initiatives undertaken by the Poonch Campus.

Professor Umesh Rai lauded the dedication and hard work of the entire team at Poonch Campus, particularly acknowledging the contributions of Dr. Rubia Bukhari in ensuring the productivity and informativeness of the Newsletter. He expressed his sincere congratulations to the team for their commitment to excellence and service to the community.

During the event, Director Poonch Campus, Professor Rakesh Vaid, provided a detailed briefing to the Vice Chancellor about the significant achievements and ongoing initiatives at the Poonch Campus. He highlighted the various awareness programs being organized, specifically tailored to benefit the local community, with a particular focus on the agricultural sector and the welfare of farmers in the area.

On this special occasion, Prof Rahul Gupta, Registrar, Prof. Meena Sharma, Dean of Planning and Development, Prof Seema Langer, Head of the Department of Zoology, Prof Dipankar Sengupta, former Director of Poonch Campus Dr. Ranjeet Kalra, Teaching faculty MMTC, all took the opportunity to address the audience. *Illegal Shopkeeper Accused of Using Fake Documents and Misappropriating Fund in Anantnag*

17 April 2024 Anantnag: In a concerning development in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, a shopkeeper identified as Eabidal Hussain Shergojeri, son of Ghulam Hassan Shergojeri, has been accused of running an illegal operation under false pretenses. The individual allegedly operates a shop under the guise of another shopkeeper from Bijbehara, Anantnag, while also fabricating documents using a fake stamp purportedly belonging to the Tehsildar of Pahalgam.

The accused's shop, located in Chandrigam Aishmuqam, has been a subject of controversy for some time. Despite previous intervention by Tehsildar Pahalgam, M. Hussain Mir, who sealed the shop, it was later discovered that the accused reopened the shop and continued his illegal activities, including the issuance of counterfeit documents bearing the seal of the Tehsildar.

Residents of the concerned village have expressed their grievances regarding the accused individual's actions. They have commended the efforts of Tehsildar Nisar Ahmed, acknowledging his role in attempting to address the situation. It has been reported that the accused has allegedly exploited the elderly members of the community, falsely claiming benefits such as pension and old-age funds.

The villagers have appealed to the authorities, urging them to take strict action against the accused individual. They emphasize the need for accountability and justice to prevent further exploitation and ensure the safety and well-being of the community members.

The situation involving the illegal activities of Eabidal Hussain Shergojeri has raised serious concerns among the residents of Anantnag district. With allegations of document forgery and financial misappropriation, the case underscores the importance of effective governance and law enforcement in safeguarding the interests of the local community.
