Chaired an introductory meeting with District and Sectoral Officers of the Kathua administration here today in the Meeting Hall of GDC Hiranagar.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Surinder Mohan; Sub Divisional Magistrate(SDM) Hiranagar Rakesh Kumar; Superintending Engineer (SE) PWD (R&B); XENs from different departments including PWD, Irrigation, Flood Control, and PDD, as well as other officials representing various departments.

The meeting focused on the status of projects funded under District CAPEX, including District Development Council (DDC), Block Development Council (BDC), and Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRI) grants. Officers from departments such as Public Health Engineering (PHE), Public Works Department (PWD), Rural Development Department (RDD), Irrigation, Flood Control, Handicrafts & Handloom, District Industries Centre (DIC), Employment, Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Social Welfare, ICDS, and Health provided updates on various ongoing initiatives.

And also focused on the proper functioning of the Ration Depots and timely distribution of the Ration to the eligible and enquired about the employment opportunities for the local youth in the field of industries and encouraged the department heads to prioritize development in this area.

*OPINION*
Naarotam Sharma Pandit Vishav Murti ji (from Vaishno Devi Darbar) giving his statement on the fact that we should celebrate Deepawali on 1st November. But we always celebrate our festival on the day on that Tithi or Lunar Day when sunrise happens that is known as Pardosh. It is ok. But this concept is not applicable to festival of Deepawali because for this festival Amavsya at night is pre condition. But Pandit ji has not explained when Amavsya will start at 3.50 PM on 31 October and it will remain for the whole evening and night of 31st October does it not mean night of Deepawali and he is telling that you celebrate the Deepawali on the night of 1st November when there is no Amavsya. It is ridiculous.
See this chart same conditions arose in 2003. 2004. 2013. 2023 but at that time Amvsya started at late hours in previous day then we celebrated Deepawali on next day. But this time Amvsya will start in mid day and it remain for whole night then why should we celebrate Deepawali on next day when there will be no Amavsya at all.
Why we celebrate Deepawali it is already explained. Please go through the above post. You will get the right answer.
