*Udhampur Parliamentary Constituency: General Observer and Police Observer interacts with AROs, Election Nodal officers of Kathua district*

*Kathua, March 29:* General Observer Dheeraj Kumar, IAS and Police Observer Daljeet Singh, IPS convened the maiden meeting with Assistant Returning Officers (AROs) and Election Nodal Officers of district Kathua. The purpose of the meeting was to review the election preparedness for the upcoming polls scheduled to be held in the constituency on April 19.

During the meeting, Returning Officer for 4-Udhampur Parliamentary Constituency Dr. Rakesh Minhas (District Election Officer Kathua), briefed the Observers about the current status of election-related processes being followed in the parliamentary constituency.

General Observer Dheeraj Kumar and Police Observer Daljeet Singh interacted with AROs and Nodal Officers, seeking updates on the progress made in establishing election-related duties. They also inquired about the measures being implemented to ensure a smooth, fair, and transparent election across the entire extent of the constituency.

The meeting emphasized the importance of efficient coordination among all stakeholders involved in the election process to uphold the integrity of the democratic exercise and ensure that voters can exercise their rights freely and without any hindrances.

05 DUMPERS INDULGED IN ILLEGAL MINING SEIZED BY KATHUA POLICE IN THE J/D OF PP CHADWAL
KATHUA; 28 MARCH:- Kathua Police seized 05 vehicles i.e (05 Dumpers) indulged in illegal transportation of construction material in the jurisdictional area of PP Chadwal.
On 28.03.2024 A Police team of PP Chadwal headed by IC PP Chadwal under the supervision of SDPO Border & SHO PS Rajbagh during patrolling/checking in its jurisdictional area seized 05 vehicles i.e (05 Dumpers) bearing Reg. No. JK02CS-2913, JK02CX-8421, JK21C-7295, JK02BL-3469 & JK02CH-0138 indulged in illegal mining i.e transportation of construction material without any legal permission. Meanwhile all the 05 vehicles indulged in illegal mining were seized & immediately handed over to the officials of the Geological and Mining department Kathua for further legal proceedings.

Eight more candidates file nomination for Udhampur Lok Sabha seat on last day of the nomination

Kathua, March 27: A total of eight candidates today filed their nomination papers from the Udhampur Lok Sabha constituency for the first phase of General Elections scheduled to be held in Jammu and Kashmir on April 19.

The candidates, including Mehraj Din as Independent Candidate, Rajesh Manchanda from Rashtriya Krantikari Samajwadi Party, Ch Lal Singh from Indian National Congress, Sh. Divya Suraj Partap Singh from Indian National Congress, Sh. Sachin Gupta from Inqilab Vikas Dal ( I.V.D), Manoj Kumar from Ekam Sanatan Bharat Dal, Balwan Singh from J&K National Panthers Party, and Pankaj Sharma as Independent, filed their nomination papers in the office of Returning Officer today.

With the filing of nomination papers by eight candidates today, the total tally of candidates who have filed their candidature for 4-Udhampur PC goes to fifteen.

The scrutiny of the nomination papers will be held on March 28, 2024 at 01:00 PM.

The candidate can withdraw their nomination before 03:00 PM on 30.03.2024 in the office of Returning Officer.

Two more candidates file nomination for Udhampur Lok Sabha seat

Kathua, March 26: A total of two candidates today filed their nomination papers from the Udhampur Lok Sabha constituency for the first phase of General Elections scheduled to be held in Jammu and Kashmir on April 19.

The candidates, including Mohd. Ali Gujjar as Independent Candidate and Sh. Ghulam Mohd Saroori from Democratic Progressive Azad Party, filed their nomination papers in the office of Returning Officer today.

With the filing of nomination papers by two candidates today, the total tally of candidates who have filed their candidature for 4-Udhampur PC goes to seven.

The last day for filing of nomination papers is March 27, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 03:00 PM.

World Tuberculosis Day is celebrated on 24th March every year but in view of Lok Sabha elections and directions from Central TB division to State Officer Jammu was conveyed that World TB day will be celebrated after Lok Sabha elections. However, target of providing TB Preventive Therapy to the contacts of microbiologically confirmed TB Patients before world TB day 2024 was assigned to all the District TB Officers. In District Kathua we have 400 microbiologically confirmed TB patients with 1600 contacts. But TPT was given to round about 1000 contacts of microbiologically confirmed patients above 14 years of age of microbiological confirmed TB patients. Jammu divsion is the first division to provide TPT to the contacts of microbiologically confirmed TB patients.TPT was provided to the contacts of microbiologically confirmed patients by giving initial visits to the patients home by providing proper counseling to them. On this day, food baskets were also distributed to TB patients.
At the end,Dr. Radha Krishna DTO Kathua briefed about TB causes, symptoms and prevention. He also informed regarding DBT to TB patients for nutrition under Nikshay Poshan Yojana and about Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan i.e adopting one TB patient for 6 months by providing Nutritional support in form of food baskets,Vocational or Diagnostic support. Food baskets were also distributed to 3 TB patients.
