Manipal University Jaipur (MUJ) hosted a 5-day Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2024 recently, bringing together 26 teams from 10 states to tackle real-world hardware challenges. The prestigious event was inaugurated virtually by Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan. The event witnessed the participation of 156 students and 26 mentors, working on problem statements provided by various ministries, including Communication, Culture, Electronics & IT, and Skill Development. Distinguished dignitaries, including MUJ President Prof. Niti Nipun Sharma, Pro-President Prof. Karunakar A. Kotegar, and Registrar Dr. Nitu Bhatnagar, applauded the participants for their innovative efforts.

The winners were awarded cash prizes of ₹1 Lakh each. The hackathon highlighted MUJ's commitment to nurturing young innovators and aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for a Digital India.

The 'Raghu Sinha ITF 200 Tennis Tournament 2024' was organised by the Raghu Sinha Mala Mathur Charitable Trust in memory of Late Mr. Raghu Sinha in collaboration with the International Tennis Federation (ITF). Over 125 participants from India and abroad participated in this 6-day tournament, including many renowned ITF-ranked players, who showcased their exceptional skills.

The tournament concluded with a grand award ceremony. The Chief Guest at the ceremony was the President of the Jaipur Club, Manoj Birla and the ceremony was presided over Chairman of the Organising Committee, Surendra Golcha.

Divyakriti Singh, an Asian Games Gold Medalist and Arjuna Awardee from Jaipur, recently gave a stellar performance at the International Dressage Competition in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Competing against some of the world’s top riders, including an Olympic finalist, Divyakriti secured a Silver medal in the Freestyle event with a career-best score of 71. She also won a Bronze medal in the Prix St George test, narrowly missing the Silver by just 0.05 points, with another career-best score of 69.8.

The prestigious competition, held under the patronage of the Ruler of Kingdom, of Saudi Arabia, His Royal Highness King Salman bin Abdulaziiz Al Saud, brought together equestrian champions from across the globe. The medals were presented by HH Prince Abdullah Bin Fahad Binn Abdullah Al Saudi, making this achievement even more special. Divyakriti’s remarkable performance is a testament to her dedication and talent, shining brightly on the global stage for India.

The education wing of Maharaja Sawai Man Singh (MSMS) II Museum Trust organised the annual Jaipur History Festival (JHF) at City Palace recently. The four-day festival began with morning prayers followed by Cultural Programme and Exhibition and Craft workshops. This year the festival's theme was ‘Financial Literacy & Folk Arts’.

Students from various schools from pan India participated in this festival. The mega event served as a unique platform for students to explore financial literacy through the lens of popular folk tales and fascinating stories.

Nearly 50 schools from across the country registered in JHF 2024, including 35 schools from Jaipur and 15 schools from Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Ghaziabad, Mumbai and Jammu. More than 10,000 students participated in this four-day festival. This year the schools integrated financial literacy into education through popular folk tales like the Panchatantra, Jataka stories, Aesop's fables, Vikram & Betal, Akbar-Birbal, Sheikh Chilli, Mulla Nasruddin, Tenali Rama and the works of literary legends such as Munshi Premchand, depicted through various folk arts of India as well as nurturing entrepreneurship through business plans incubation.

On the eve of World Disability Day, Umang celebrated the awareness week, organising various activities with different target groups to spread knowledge related to disability and share some issues of concern.

This year the students, staff, and parents organised the ‘Awareness Mela’ at City Park in Mansarovar, Jaipur, where several posters were put up explaining various disabilities along with many fun game stalls that were designed to either sensitise the players towards disability or test their knowledge that they could learn from all the posters displayed in the space.

Students organised an Awareness Mela, promoting inclusivity and disability awareness through interactive games and experiences. The event received overwhelming positive feedback and support. The Founder Director of Umang, Ms Deepak Kalra appealed to all to create opportunities at their workplace for persons with disability.

The Exhibitors’ Meet for the Jaipur Jewellery Show (JJS) was held at Hotel Jaipur Marriott recently with tremendous enthusiasm, as reflected by the high attendance of jewellers. This year, the theme is ‘Rubies… Rare, Royal, and Revered.’ The mega jewellery event is scheduled to take place at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre, Sitapura, from 20 to 23 December. Over 300 exhibitors participated in the Meet.

JJS has grown from 67 booths 20 years ago to over 1200 booths this year, marking the largest number to date. This reflects a 10% growth compared to last year. Around 50,000 international and domestic visitors are expected to attend the show.

It is worth mentioning that out of the four national tournaments played this year, she has won three titles. It is noteworthy that she trains hard and practices regularly at the Rambagh Golf Club in Jaipur to hone her skills.

The Second Edition of Late Justice Anshuman Singh Memorial Golf Cup tournament was held recently at the Rambagh Golf Club in Jaipur. This one-day tournament concluded with a prize distribution ceremony. His Highness Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh of Jaipur was the Chief Guest on this occasion. Both the winners and runners-up were awarded in different categories and handicaps at the ceremony.

Lakshay Dev was the gross winner of the tournament. Anas Shamshi was the gross runner-up and Deep Karan Thakkar was the gross second runner-up. Jaswant Singh won in the 'Eldest Golfer' category, while Naitik Chauhan won the 'Youngest Golfer' title. The tournament was played in 18 hole Stable Ford (3/4 handicap) (maximum handicap 24) format, in which more than 160 golfers, including international players, participated.
