Dame Kate Bingham, who chaired the UK's Vaccine Taskforce, issued a grim warning that the next pandemic could claim at least 50 million lives, emphasizing that the world had been fortunate that COVID-19 was not more lethal.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has dubbed the anticipated next pandemic as "Disease X”, stating that it might already be “on its way”.
COVID-19, which emerged in 2019, has already claimed the lives of nearly seven million people globally, according to WHO data.

Dame Kate Bingham cautioned that Disease X could prove to be more than seven times as deadly as COVID-19. She also said that the next pandemic might originate from an existing virus.

YouTube has unveiled a groundbreaking AI-powered video editing application called ‘YouTube Create’, which aims at simplifying and democratizing video content creation for its vast user base. This innovative app will empower anyone to effortlessly produce and share videos on the platform, with an array of AI-driven features.

Among the standout features of YouTube Create are precision editing and trimming tools, automatic voiceovers, captioning capabilities, and smooth transitions. Additionally, the app is set to introduce a novel feature called "Dream Screen," enabling users to integrate AI-generated videos or images into their content simply by expressing their ideas in the chat box. For instance, by typing "I want to be in Paris," the app will seamlessly insert a lifelike video or image of the user in the City of Light.

YouTube Create will also incorporate generative AI functionality, offering users topic ideas and video outlines based on trending subjects and audience preferences. Regulatory tech platform Trackwizz has raised an undisclosed sum from WestBridge Capital in its maiden investment round, at a valuation of Rs 900 crore.

The funds will be used for research and development, with a focus on artificial intelligence (AI), the firm said in a statement. It also intends to significantly scale up its software-as-a-service (SaaS) offerings, including TrackWizz Screenzaa, and bring in new products in niche areas of financial crime.

As the software suite of financial technology and compliance firm TSS Consultancy, Trackwizz works with more than 350 financial institutions, including banks, brokerage firms and payment solution providers, across India, South Africa and the US. It helps them tackle financial crime with a risk-based approach by detecting malpractices and terrorism financing, among others.
