২৫ দিনের লড়াই শেষ, ৭২ বছর বয়সে শেষে নিঃশ্বাস ত্যাগ করলেন সিপিআই (এম) এর সাধারণ সম্পাদক, বামনেতা সীতারাম ইয়েচুরি । ছাত্রজীবন থেকে রাজনীতিতে ধর্মনিরপেক্ষ, সমাজতান্ত্রিক সরকারের পক্ষে ছিলেন বরাবর। সীতারাম ছিলেন বাস্তববাদী রাজনীতিক। দিল্লির অল ইন্ডিয়া ইনস্টিটিউট অফ মেডিক্যাল সায়েন্সেস (এমস)-এ বৃহস্পতিবার দুপুর ০৩:০৩ - এ প্রয়াত হন সীতারাম। জন্ম মাদ্রাজে (অধুনা চেন্নাই)। পৈতৃক বাড়ি অন্ধ্রপ্রদেশের হায়দ্রাবাদে । অর্থনীতিতে স্নাতক হন দিল্লির সেন্ট স্টিফেন্স কলেজ থেকে। পরবর্তীতে স্নাতকোত্তর কোর্সে ভর্তি হন জওহরলাল নেহরু বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে, সেখানে পড়াকালীনই বামপন্থী ছাত্র রাজনীতিতে যোগদান। ২০০৫ থেকে ২০১৭ সাল পর্যন্ত বাংলা থেকে নির্বাচিত হয়ে রাজ্যসভার সাংসদ হন তিনি।

"আকাশবাণী কোলকাতা, খবর পড়ছি ছন্দা সেন"

ছন্দা সেন নিঃশব্দে চলে গেলেন। শোকস্তব্ধ সংবাদ জগত। প্রায় ৭৮ বছর বয়সে, বুধবার রাত ২.২৫ নাগাদ এসএসকেএম হাসপাতালে অবসান ঘটলো এক অধ্যায়ের। রেডিও যুগ থেকে স্মার্ট টিভি , তাঁর অবদান থাকবে অক্ষুণ্ণ। ১৯৭৪ সালে আকাশবাণী কলকাতার সংবাদ বিভাগে সংবাদ পাঠিকা হিসাবে যোগদান। এক কথায় দূরদর্শনের প্রায় জন্মলগ্ন থেকে তার পর্দায় উপস্থিতি। কলকাতা দূরদর্শনের একজন বিশিষ্ট ব্যক্তিত্ব তিনি। ২০০৬-তে অবসর গ্রহণ করেন তিনি। কলকাতার ভবানীপুরে পৈতৃক ভিটেতেই থাকতেন। পড়াশোনা তাঁর লেডি ব্রেবর্ন কলেজ থেকে। রেখে গেলেন তাঁর স্বামী, একমাত্র কন্যা, ও অসংখ্য গুণমুগদ্ধকে। হৃদযন্ত্র সংক্রান্ত কিছু সমস্যা ছিল। সাথে ছিল চোখের সমস্যাও। সঞ্চালিকা শেষ কিছু দিন ধরে চিকিৎসাধীন ছিলেন এসএসকেএম হাসপাতালে । আজ কেওড়াতলার মহাশ্মশানে ছন্দা সেনের শেষকৃত্য সম্পন্ন হবে। তার আগে শ্রদ্ধা নিবেদনের জন্য দেহ নিয়ে আসা হবে আকাশবাণী ভবনে।

Nagarukhra, West Bengal : আর জি কর মেডিক্যাল কলেজে মহিলা চিকিৎসককে ধর্ষণ ও খুনের প্রতিবাদে পথে নামলো পড়ুয়ারা। রবিবার নগরউখড়া ক্ষেত্রমোহন গার্লস হাইস্কুল এবং নগরউখড়া হাই স্কুলের বর্তমান ও প্রাক্তন ছাত্রছাত্রীরা সন্ধ্যায় মিছিল করেন। মিছিল শুরু হয় নগরউখড়া ক্ষেত্রমোহন বালিকা বিদ্যালয় থেকে । পরবর্তীতে মিছিল মূল রাস্তা ধরে কালী মন্দিরের সামনের থেকে পুলিশ ফাঁড়ির সামনে থেকে গিয়ে নগরউখড়া বাজারে জমায়েত হয়। এ দিনের প্রতিবাদে ধর্ষক ও হত্যাকারীদের শাস্তির দাবি তোলেন বর্তমান ও প্রাক্তন ছাত্রছাত্রীরা। দাবি জানান অভয়ার বিচারের। বৃষ্টি উপেক্ষা করে সন্ধ্যায় প্রতিবাদ মিছিলে ভিড় ছিল চোখে পড়ার মতো।
