Marathon Man Amar S***a came 5th place in 25 km Trail Run.
Once again Amar S***a added one more feather in the cap by achieving a wonderful feet in the Jumping Gorilla Mountain Ultra Trail Running Championship, Pune, Maharashtra on 12th January 2025.
During 100 km run Amar was infected by virus and after past five hours of run he was adviveced by Doctor to take rest due to deteriorating health conditions.
Next day, the organising committee after consulting the doctor allowed to run for 25 km.
With grit and strong determination, S***a started the run and stood 5th place in the Open Categories among 59 participants.
Lastly he would like to give heartfelt thanks to Mr Tenzing Norbu Bhutia (General Secretary, Gangtok to South West Taxi Jeep Driver's Association) for his unconditional and unwavering support during this championship.

Proud Moment for Sikkim:
On 12th January 2025, the Amar S***a Marathon Man Academy of Sikkim (AMAS) brought immense Pride to the State by delivering an Outstanding Performance at the BURJ 2025 - JUMPING MOUNTAIN ULTRA TRAIL RUNNING CHAMPIONSHIP held in Pune, Maharashtra.
The AMAS Runners achieved remarkable success across various Categories:
1) Pritam Rai clinched the 3rd place in the 100 Km.
2) Anuda Tamang aechived a commendable 2nd place in the 50 Km.
3) Shanti Rai finished with an impressive 2nd place in the 25 Km.
4) Sushmita Rai came 4th place in the 50 Km.
5) Unisha Tamang came 5th place in the 10 Km.
6) Bibek Dahal came 15th place in the 10 km.
The BURJ 2025 - JUMPING GORILLA MOUNTAIN ULTRA TRAIL RUNNING CHAMPIONSHIP was Organised in Collaboration with International Trail Running Association (ITRA) and (UTMB).

Chief Minister Mr Prem Singh Tamang had the honor and pleasure of attending the 89th birthday celebration of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama at the Dalai Lama Temple in McLeodganj.

The celebration underscored the enduring impact of His Holiness's teachings on compassion, peace, and harmony.

Chief Minister was accorded a warm welcome by Sikyong (CTA) Penpa Tsering, Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, Khenpo Sonam Tenphel, and the entire team of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA).

It was a memorable occasion that the Chief Minister will cherish forever, and he feels deeply privileged to have been a part of such a significant event.

The programme was also attended by Speaker Mr MN Sherpa, Ministers Mr Bhim Hang S***a, Mr Puran Gurung and Mr Pintso Namgyal Lepcha, MLA’s Mr Sanjit Kharel and Mr Erung Lepcha, DoP Secretary (Rtd) and Former Chairman (ARC) Mr, Tenzing Gelek, Principal RC Mr AK Chand, and CMO Secretary Dr. SD Dhakal including the representatives of the local Tibetan Assembly in Gangtok, along with executive members of the six Tibetan associations and the students from Sikkim.

Dharamshala, July 6 (IPR): A group of 41 individuals from Sikkim, including representatives from the local Tibetan Assembly in Gangtok, executive members of the Six Tibetan Associations, and 28 college and school students from various parts of Sikkim, are in Dharamshala on an educational exposure tour.

They will be attending the celebration the 89th birthday of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama on July 6, where Chief Minister Mr Prem Singh Tamang will be present as the Chief Guest.

During this tour, they will learn about the functioning of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) and gain a deeper understanding of their culture and traditions.

Before commencing the tour, they called on Chief Minister Mr Prem Singh Tamang.
Addressing the group, Chief Minister stated that the government is committed to supporting them through this exposure tour, helping them learn more about His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and the spiritual environment of Dharamshala. He urged the students to visit all the important places and enhance their knowledge.

On the first day of their tour, the team visited Norbulingka Temple in Dharamshala, where they explored studies on Tibetan handlooms and handicrafts.

Mr. Tenzing Tsephel, President of the Tibetan Youth Congress (TYC), expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister, Mr. Prem Singh Tamang, for arranging this first-of-its-kind educational tour for the Tibetan students of Sikkim. "We are honored to have such a thoughtful Chief Minister," he added.

The students also shared this opportunity, a blessing, as they will learn about both the Tibetan administration and their culture and traditions.

The Joint Action Council, Sikkim called on Sikkim Rajya Sabha member-elect at his Gangtok residence to extend their greetings on his election to the upper house of the Indian Parliament.
The council put forth issues concerning Sikkim before the MP elect with a firm belief that he would use his office to resolve them in the interest of the Sikkimese people. The main issues discussed were
1. Remedial measures to be initiated against Finance Act amendment which has expanded the 'Sikkimese' definition.
2. Reservation of cent percent seats of Sikkim assembly for Sikkim Subjects and their descendants duly giving justice and fair representation to all local communities through a inclusive and balanced formula.
3.Implementation of ILP in Sikkim for safeguarding the economic, constitutional and political rights of the Sikkimese.
4. Inclusion of 12 left out communities into the ST category.
5. Curbing down of political violence in Sikkim.
6. Protection and safeguarding of the article 371F in letter and spirit.
A comprehensive representation was handed over to the MP elect who gave a patient hearing to the JAC delegates and assured all efforts from his end.

In Memorium (31st October 1970 - 9th February 2024)

The final rite (Anthyesti Kriya) of Late Tshering Lhamu Katwal who left for heavenly abode on 9th February 2024 falls on 21st February 2024.
All relatives, friends and well wishers are requested to join us for offering prayers for the departed soul at our residence of Sakyong road, near Geyzing bazar.

We also take this opportunity to extend our sincere gratitude to those who stood by us in the times of bereavement.
