couldn’t take stress or the weight it supposedly supported was way out of range for which it was designed.
All airport operators need to reevaluate the structures and designed load etc.

Terminal 1 at Delhi Airport Collapses….alarm to recheck design..

I thought of warning the Indian Airport operators, based on the very recent Airport Terminal fall at GMR DIAL Delhi Terminal 1 which had a casualty and many injured.

This kind of prefabricated design is common in many terminals more so at Delhi. The strictural members support such a long spans and huge weight that is transferredto one point in two arms. Experts would have observed it gave way at that one point over the truss.

Well there is no foolproof design to balance the weight, length and dynamic forces like high wind velocity as well as heavy rains of gigantic airports, proper maintenance checks of structures can only ensure safety of passengers.

All these structures and designs ought to be reevaluated asap by competent experts. The terminal 1 accident probably happened at a lean time; imagine its impact at a bigger, busier airport terminals with hundreds of pax at any given time.

Most our airports use this particular structural design.

Passenger safety cannot be achieved by apportioning blame on who made and when!

NIAL - Noida International Airport gets an airliner interest

NIAL the newest mega 2nd Delhi NCR airport is work in Progress and may take early 2025 to get phase 1 operationalised.

However, it has a new airline Shankh Air that has decided to be one of the firsts to place itself at Jewar Airport.

Shri Sharvan Kumar Vishwakarma Chairman Shankh Air met the Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu in this connection. The new airline plans to connect airports like Pune, Bhogapuram and NaviMumbai by B 737 aircraft.

Best suggestion is to retire people both in private sector and public sector to implement retire age at 50.
This will give
i) a 20 year work span to all which is reasonable to settle life;
ii) it will release at least 2 cr jobs in market every year as promised by PM Modi;
iii) it will streamline “.One Nation-one retirement and ensure job for all youth;
iv) it will ensure equitable opportunities to citizens; and finally,
v) maintain a healthy work force for nation Building as after 50 people just wear out, want to get the job going, some how and avoid tough decision making that may expose them, which hampers productively of nation.
