| In a coordinated effort, the Border Security Force (BSF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) Agartala apprehended six Bangladeshi nationals, including a woman and two transgenders, early this morning at around 8:30 AM. Officials reported that the arrests were part of an ongoing operation to curb illegal immigration.

In a separate incident on the same day, BSF personnel from the Samrupara Border Outpost (BOP) in Kailashahar district, Unakoti, detained three additional Bangladeshi nationals. This group, consisting of two minors and their family member, was attempting to cross back into Bangladesh when they were intercepted. The family is reportedly from Maulvibazar, Bangladesh.

Authorities have initiated a preliminary inquiry into both cases. A BSF spokesperson stated, “We are maintaining a high level of alertness along the international border to prevent infiltration and protect the integrity of the region.”

The BSF has heightened surveillance along the India-Bangladesh border to strengthen security and deter unlawful crossings.
