Being an ideal tourist destination for domestic and foreign tourists, Jammu Kashmir is a perfect place for adventure enthusiasts. The majestic valleys of Kashmir offer adventure opportunities like trekking and skiing. The serene destination is also famous for experiential travels in the form of either staying in a houseboat or taking a Shikara ride on the Dal, Wular, and Nigeen Lake.

Nothing can beat the beauty of Jammu Kashmir, and to believe it, one has to see it!

The whole of Jammu Kashmir is full of scenic beauty and has the potential to attract tourists from every corner of the world. However, over the years, Jammu Kashmir has been overshadowing the historic and alluring Chenab Valley.

The Tourism Department is making all efforts to promote Jammu Kashmir as the favourite tourist destination but not enough is being done to bring attention towards Chenab Valley, which is equally worth the attention.

Not many people are aware of places in Doda and Kishtwar, which have a huge potential to attract tourists. Doda district abounds in scenic spots with large forest area, snow-clad peaks, virgin trekking routes, and the majestic Chenab river passing through it. The district offers a variety of tourist spots and health resorts. The lush, verdant meadows of Lal Draman and Dal Draman with their fir and Deodar forests, are all being left ignored by the government and Tourism Department.

The scenic beauty of Chenab valley is left unexplored.

Woman attacked with acid in Srinagar; being operated upon [details]
A 24-year-old woman faced an acid attack in Srinagar on Tuesday and is being operated for her injuries, police said.

Police sources said the woman was attacked in the evening with acid in Usmania colony of Wantpora in Hawal area of Srinagar.

Woman undergoes operation

"The woman was attacked outside her business unit this evening. She was immediately shifted to S.M.H.S hospital where Dr Kanwaljeet Singh, the medical superintendent of the hospital said her face had got damaged," a police source said.

"The girl is being operated upon to ascertain whether her eyes have been damaged or not," Dr Singh said.

Police has taken cognisance of the heinous crime and the assailants are being traced, sources said.

*TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 10-01-2022*

Tomorrow, subject to fair weather and better road condition (after clearance of road) *LMVs Passengers shall be allowed from both sides* on Jammu-Srinagar NHW viz *Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa . *No Bus or Mini Bus will be allowed* from either side.
TCU Jammu/Srinagar shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the traffic.

*CUT OFF TIMING:*
*LMVs from Nagrota (Jammu) 0700 hrs to 1200 hrs,*
*from Jakheni (Udhampur) 0800 hrs to 1300 hrs* &
*from Navyug Tunnel (Qazigund side) 0900 hrs to 1300 hrs*
*No Vehicle shall be allowed before and after cut off timing.*

*HMVs/Load Carriers*
Subject to fair weather and better road condition, *HMVs shall be allowed from Jakheni (Udhampur) towards Srinagar after the tail of up LMVs crosses Jakheni* . TCU Udhampur shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the HMVs.

*SFs Convoy Movement*
Security Forces are advised/requested not to ply against advisory/traffic plan in view of traffic congestion on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. *They may ply from Jammu towards Srinagar* after confirming the status of NHW.

*MUGHAL ROAD*
Mughal Road closed for vehicular movement in view of snow accumulation at Peer Ki Gali by the order of Dy. Commissioner Shopian.

*SSG ROAD*
Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri Road closed for vehicular movement in view of snow accumulation on Zoji la axis by the order of DIVCOM Ladakh (UT)

*KISHTWAR-SINTHAN ROAD*
No traffic movement shall be allowed on Kishtwar-Sinthan Road in view of snow accumulation.

People are advised to undertake journey on NHW-44 only after confirming status of the road from Traffic control units as under:-

*DC Doda chairs meeting of Revenue department, reviews progress on key indicators*
_Directs all the Tehsildars to remain vigilant during the ongoing winter season, Asks them to ensure availability of basic amenities in their areas in coordination with the essential services departments_

Doda, December 28:
Deputy Commissioner Doda Vikas Sharma today chaired the meeting of key Officials of revenue department here in the mini meeting hall of DC office to review the progress on the various priority areas under implementation of the department.

During the meeting threadbare discussion was held on various key indicators which includes latest position on missing record, Record of Rights, retrival status of the Masavi, Updation of Jamabandis, implementaion of SVAMITVA, e-offices, Real Time Land Transaction management system, Real time management of court cases, eviction status, Progress of Scanning and Quality check, Aapki Zameen Aapki Nigrani, besides also reviewed other important issues of the revenue department.

The DC while reviewing the status of missing records was informed that only 4 masavis are not available here in the district rest have been retrieved/reconstructed, for which the DC asked the ADC to send a correspondence to the higher authorities to get the record available to the district from the central record room, besides also asked to mention the name of the official of the time during whose tenure onward this record is not being found and also to mention the incident happened if any during that time period.

In addition to this it was informed to the chair that Record of Rights and Jamabandis are updated till date and no such data is found missing anywhere in the district.

With regard to eviction of encroachment, the DC passed strict directions to all the Tehsildars to expedite the anti encroachment drives by the end of this month which shall reflect in their monthly progress, besides asked them to submit the report by tommorrow showing the updated status of record availability on AZAN portal village wise including other discrepancies so that same shall be communicated to the concerned authorities for time bound redressal.

With regard to SVAMITVA the DC have asked the ACR to send the Tehsildars turn by turn to Jammu so that they shall have physical experience of how to execute on the ground level rather than to just only have training programs, besides asked the scanning agency to expedite the quality check by way of mobolising the extra man power so that record shall be handed over to the respective Tehsils for the general public convenience.

Meanwhile the DC also directed the Tehsildars to conduct the regular grievance redressal camps and tour to the far off places so that people grievances shall be addressed at the door step and also to hold service delivery camps, besides asked them to submit their monthly tour diaries to the DC office without any fail.

Moreover with regard to winter preparedness the DC directed the Tehsildars to ensure that all the basic amenities are in advance available in their jurisdictions in coordination with the concerned line departments so that inconvenience shall be avoided and hassle free supply of basic amenities shall be ensured, besides asked SDMs to give wide publicity of the essential department contact numbers, so that the restoration of basic services is ensured in case of any blockage.

The meeting was attended by ADC Doda, ADC Bhaderwah, ACR Doda, SDMs, all Tehsildars, besides other concerned officials were also present during the meeting.

As per sources, a girl newr about 20 years of age belongs to Bagwah area of Doda presently residing at Nagri area jumps into chenab to evening at around 6pm, reports said.
