DDC Chairman Dhananter Singh Kotwal Attends “We Bhaderwahi Meet” Organised by BATA in Bhaderwah
Bhaderwah, January 06:
A special programme titled “We Bhaderwahi Meet” was organised by the President of Bhaderwah Adventure Tourism Association (BATA), Shri Manish Kotwal, at Bhaderwah with the objective of promoting unity, local culture, and tourism potential of the region. The event brought together key stakeholders to deliberate on strengthening Bhaderwah’s identity and fostering sustainable tourism.
The programme was graced by the presence of the Hon’ble Chairman, District Development Council (DDC) Doda, Shri Dhananter Singh Kotwal, MLA Bhaderwah Shri Daleep Singh Parihar, Vice Chairperson DDC Smt. Sangeeta Bhagat, and DDC Member Shri Thakur Yudhvir Singh. A large number of local youth, tourism stakeholders, adventure enthusiasts, NGOs, social activists, senior citizens, religious leaders, public representatives, and prominent citizens of Bhaderwah also participated in the meet.
Highlighting the objective of the programme, BATA President Shri Manish Kotwal emphasized the need for collective and coordinated efforts to promote Bhaderwah—popularly known as Mini Kashmir—as a hub of adventure and eco-tourism. He underlined that such initiatives help preserve local culture and heritage while generating employment and self-employment opportunities for the local youth through sustainable tourism practices.
Addressing the gathering, the dignitaries assured that the issues, suggestions, and inputs raised during the interaction would be examined and acted upon in a time-bound manner. They reiterated their commitment towards the holistic development of Bhaderwah, particularly in strengthening tourism infrastructure and adventure tourism, and called for active community participation to project Bhaderwah as a prominent tourism destination on the national map.
