The Eastern Today, initially focuses upon the eight eastern districts of Arunachal Pradesh, namely, Longding, Tirap, Changlang, Dibang Valley, Lower Dibang Valley, Namsai, Lohit and Anjaw, seven upper Assam districts, namely, Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, Sivasagar, Jorhat, Golaghat, Dhemaji and Lakhimpur, and the four eastern Nagaland districts namely Mon, Tuensang, Khipire and Longleng. These areas despi

te being rich in natural resources have always been exploited and their development has always been overlooked by the successive governments at the Centre as well as the state. As a result of which the communities residing in these contagious part of the nation has by and large remained socio-economically backward. The Eastern Today determined to create a medium for these areas and for Northeast at large to connect ourselves and stress those subjects that matter to us and we offer a lens to soi-disant main India so that it shift it’s paradigm in regard to the neglected Indian Eastern Periphery.
