The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) recently released its sixth Assessment Report (AR6). According to the report, "Human influence has warmed the climate at a rate that is unprecedented in at least the last 2000 years." Immediate action is imperative to limit global warming under the 1.5°C levels to avoid the catastrophic impacts of climate change, that we are already seeing today.

The faster humanity uses up the Earth’s resources, the sooner in the calendar year Earth Overshoot Day occurs. In 1970, it fell on December 30th, and it has been coming earlier with every passing year.
29th July was Earth Overshoot Day 2021
From that date onwards, humanity will be living beyond the planet's capacity and is entering the last four months of 2021 in a resource deficit.
