I cannot describe how heartwarming it was to watch this film. Hi Nanna is a story that urge you to suspend your disbelief and give in to its charm. It had been a long time since I watched something like This. And it was all that was needed. The director sets the premise where we see a resilient father trying everything possible for her daughter. He slowly unpacks the story where the daughter insists on hearing about her mother and Viraj slowly tells her that story like one of those bedtime stories he narrates to her, and then nothing remains same after it. What unfolds is a emotional ride of us knowing about how two people who have absolutely different perspectives towards life come together and fall in love. If Viraj is all about hope, his wife has anxiety issues that stem from growing up in a broken home. There are promises made, only to be mocked by destiny. The woman wallows in arief and quilt while the man, also in grief, desperately holds on to a silver lining. That's what which makes this story even more beautiful. I won't give any more of it away. but just want to say Watch it and embrace it.
