After five Army personnel were killed and another was seriously injured on Thursday after their vehicle caught fire following a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch, new information revealed that seven terrorists from Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) group were involved in the incident. The Army said the vehicle the soldiers were travelling in came under fire from unidentified terrorists and it caught fire because of likely use of gr***des.
Security forces have launched a massive search operation in the dense forests of the Bata-Doriya area after a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch killed five Indian Army personnel and injured one, officials said on Friday.

"The Army and security agencies have received inputs about the presence of 6-7 terrorists operating in two groups in the Rajouri-Poonch sector near the area where the incident took place yesterday," defence sources told ANI. Sources said that this group was involved in the ambush of the Indian Army vehicle yesterday in the Poonch sector where five soldiers were killed.
Multiple special forces teams along with drones and surveillance helicopters have been rushed to the area to help carry out search and destroy ops there," the sources said.

The security forces including the Army, Police and Intelligence Agencies are coordinating the operations. The incident occurred after an Army vehicle they were travelling in was fired upon by terrorists in the Rajouri sector in Jammu leading to the death of five soldiers, and injuring another. Operations were launched to trace the perpetrators, but so far there was no clarity yet on the attackers.

Five police officers in Prayagraj were suspended in connection with the murders of gangster-politician Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf.

Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf, both accused in the Umesh Pal murder case, were shot by three people posing as journalists on April 16 in Prayagraj. The shooting took place in the presence of several police officers and media persons who were there to interview Atiq and his brother.
The three shooters -- Sunny Singh (23) of Hamirpur, Lavlesh Tiwari (22) of Banda and Arun Maurya (18) of Kasganj were sent to four-day police remand till April 23 on Wednesday.

The suspension of the cops and the police remand of the shooters came on the same day that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath chaired a meeting to nab Atiq's wife Shaista Parveen and the other accused in the Umesh Pal murder case, Guddu Muslim.

Guddu Muslim is one of the 10 people named in the Umesh Pal murder FIR. Six of them have been killed and Guddu Muslim is one of the four people who are on the run.

The meeting held via video conference was also attended by Uttar Pradesh Police STF head Amitabh Yash, Special DG Prashant Kumar and other police officers. The officials discussed how to quickly nab Shaista and Guddu Muslim.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who created a political flutter with his appeal to incorporate images of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha on currency notes, has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi pushing forward the demand. Claiming that the Indian economy was not in good shape, Kejriwal had on Wednesday said the country needed a lot of effort to get the economy back on track along with the "blessings of our gods and goddesses". It's a wish of 130 crore Indians that there should a picture of Mahatma Gandhi on one side of currency notes and the photos of Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi on the other side, he wrote in the letter on Thursday.
"Tremendous support has been received on this issue. There is massive enthusiasm among the people and everyone wants this to be implemented immediately," Kejriwal claimed.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener said in the letter that Indian economy is passing through a very bad phase and India and is listed among developing countries despite 75 years of Independence. "On the one hand, all countrymen need to work hard and on the other, we also need blessings of the deities so that our efforts bear fruits," Kejriwal wrote.
The country will progress only with a confluence of correct policy, hard work and blessings of the gods, he said.

Kejriwal's demand has evoked sharp reactions from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which called it an unsuccessful attempt to hide the "ugly anti-Hindu face" of the AAP in view of upcoming elections in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh.

Sriharikota: Indian Space Research Organisations' heaviest rocket LVM3-M2 on its maiden commercial mission on Sunday successfully placed 36 broadband communication satellites of a UK-based customer into the intended orbits, the space agency said, describing the mission as 'historic'. OneWeb Ltd is the UK-based customer of NewSpace India Ltd (NSIL), ISRO's commercial arm, and a global communication network powered from space, enabling internet connectivity for governments and businesses. Bharti Enterprises is one of the major investors in OneWeb.
With Sunday's success, ISRO put behind the anomaly experienced in its August 7 Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV) mission, which had then made the satellites unusable.

Early on Sunday, a beaming ISRO Chairman S Somanath announced Deepavali had started early for the scientists at the space agency.

"LVM3 M2/OneWeb India-1 mission is completed successfully. All the 36 satellites have been placed into intended orbits. ," ISRO said in a tweet, minutes after Somanath announced that 16 satellites have been placed in the desired orbits while the rest would take some more time.

All the 36 satellites were injected into the orbits around 75 minutes after the rocket blasted off from the spaceport here.

Addressing the gathering at the Mission Control Centre, Somanath said the festival celebrations started at Satish Dhawan Space Centre as LVM3 and its very first commercial mission have accomplished the orbit very accurately.

After this, they beat up the friend of the victim and then carried out the gang-rape incident.

India on Wednesday advised its nationals in Ukraine to leave the country “at the earliest” following a deterioration in the security situation and an escalation in hostilities.

The advisory, issued by the Indian embassy in Kyiv, also called on Indians not to travel to Ukraine. The advisory followed another issued on October 10 that had only urged Indians to avoid all non-essential travel to and within Ukraine.

The Indian move follows a sharp increase in Russian drone and missile strikes targeting Ukraine’s energy infrastructure and residential buildings in Kyiv and several other cities. Russian President Vladimir Putin imposed martial law on Wednesday in four Ukrainian regions annexed by Russia, and there were reports of people fleeing the occupied city of Kherson after warnings of an impending assault.

: Two migrant labourers from Uttar Pradesh were killed during an overnight terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district.

The attack comes days after a Kashmiri Pandit was killed in a targeted attack in the same district.

According to the police, a terrorist threw a gr***de on non-local labourers in Harmen area in Shopian late Monday night.

The two labourers killed were Ram Sagar and Monish Kumar, both residents of Kannauj in Uttar Pradesh.

The police said that the attacker was arrested hours after he threw the gr***de.

A 'hybrid terrorist' of Lashkar-e-Taiba, Imran Bashir Ganie, who lobbed the gr***de is arrested by Shopian police. Raids are underway," said Vijay Kumar, Additional Director General of Police Jammu and Kashmir.

"Hybrid terrorists" are unlisted radicalised people who carry out terror strikes and slip back into society without any trace.

On Saturday, terrorists killed Pooran Krishan Bhat, a Kashmiri Pandit at Chowdery Gund village in Shopian.

The killing, part of a series of targeted attacks triggered protests in various parts of Jammu and Kashmir.

Due to fear of attacks, around 6,000 Kashmiri Pandits are not attending offices for the last five months. They have been protesting and demanding safety and their relocation to Jammu. Pandits say the government is unmoved and unwilling to shift them.
