As a partnership between UNICEF & Aaina since 2014, has been organized as an annual short-film festival on various Child Rights issues. This year, in its ninth edition, Kallola 2022 is back with the theme of "Children and Climate Change". The aim of this is to know in what ways climate change affects children and what can children do in order to prevent it.

Film: Kuili ra katha Synopsis: The film is about a girl named Kuili who isn’t feeling well due to her period cramps so she sits separately in the corner of the classroom, her friends enquired the reason. She shared about her problem and they too shared their experiences. At the same time a boy named Badal overheard their conversation and commented on her in the classroom. Kuili felt very bad and after the school hour she spoke to her senior. The senior scolded Badal and explained about the whole process of period. Badal realized his mistakes. Kallola- A short film competition on child rights.

KALLOLA is a Short Film Contest on Child Rights initiated by UNICEF, in partnership with Aaina in 2015. Now, in its fourth season, it once again invites creative minds from Odisha, to speak out and raise awareness on the rights of children through the medium of short films.

KALLOLA signifies the happy sound of bird- song at dawn. In a perfect world, the synonym for the happy, joyful laughter of children. You may ask that if Human Rights belong to everyone, why do we need separate rights for children. Children need special care and protection to ensure that their rights are upheld.
