To,
As you know, the annual journal Humankind has been published by Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrhalaya, Bhopal since 2005. Due to some unavoidable reasons, it could not be published after the year 2015. Now, I want to start it again with a new format, new name and new number. For this, your academic cooperation is required.
For your information, ours is the largest anthropological museum in the country and one of the biggest in Asia with an emphasis on open air exhibition and activities conducted in various parts of India in relation to collection, documentation, dissemination and publication of traits of both tangible and intangible cultural heritage. As regards the journal, its scope would broadly cover the disciplines of Anthropology, Museology and Archaeology; however, themes hinging on indigenous knowledge system, intangible cultural heritage, art and aesthetics would also be relevant. Papers of interdisciplinary nature are also welcome.
Since you are a distinguished scholar, it is our privilege to invite you to contribute a paper for the forthcoming issue. We shall appreciate it very much if you could send a paper along with an abstract by 31st October 2023. For your convenience, a general guideline is enclosed herewith. In order to enable use for faster production, it will be appreciated if your paper is sent by email [email protected].
Looking forward to hearing a positive response from you.
With regards,
Sincerely yours,
(Prof. Amitabh Pande)
Guidelines/information for contributors
Papers covering the disciplines of anthropology, museology and archaeology, review articles and brief communications written in clear, concise and correct English will be considered for publication. However, themes hinging on indigenous knowledge system, intangible cultural heritage, art and aesthetics
would also be relevant. Papers of interdisciplinary nature would also be published. Submission of a paper will be taken to imply that it is unpublished and is not being considered for publication elsewhere. All submitted articles will be reviewed by specialists. After a paper is reviewed, it is returned to the author for revision (if necessary) or rejected.
The title page should comprise: title of paper, name(s) and surname of author(s), Institute, a short title for use as running head, and address to which communication regarding the manuscript should be directed.
Footnotes should be ordinarily avoided, if essential, they should appear at the bottom of the respective page and should be numbered consecutively.
References should be arranged alphabetically. The reference list should include all articles cited in the text and tables. Each reference should be complete (Please see examples given below):
Examples:
Tables and illustrations should be submitted on separate sheets, numbered and must have a heading or legend respectively. An illustration is only justified if it clarifies or reduces the text. All illustrations should be ordinarily in black and white and the originals of line drawings or glossy photographs made of them be submitted. Photocopies of figures are not acceptable. If you have computer
generated graphics you may submit good laser printer copies, printed on glossy paper.
Tables and illustrations should be planned to fit the journal page. Please make sure that all lettering and symbols used in the figures will be able to withstand substantial reduction and still be legible. For faster production an author may send the paper in an attachment of email, in addition to hardcopy.
Reprints: The first author of each paper will receive 25 reprints free of cost, but not a copy of the journal.
Paper should send to:
