Illegal Forest Wood Extraction Thwarted by District Police Kishtwar...05 Persons Apprehended

In a proactive move to combat illegal activities threatening our natural resources, Kishtwar Police intercepted and apprehended five persons involved in the unauthorized extraction of forest wood.

A team of Kishtwar police team from P/S Atholi, led by SHO PS Atholi Insp. Vikram Parihar, established a special Naka near Sheetla Mata Mandir Gulabgarh.

During the Naka duty, Naka party halted a Scorpio with registration number JK-17-5431, traveling from Sohal towards Gulabgrah. During the checking of the said vehicle, the Naka Party recovered two sacks and three Pithu bags loaded with forest produce, specifically Acer-like tree knots numbering 135, and arrested 05 persons on the spot, seizing the vehicle.

During questioning, these accused disclosed their identities as:

1. Nawang Sentam S/O Subash Chander R/O Kabban Paddar

2. Mahaver S/O Jayander Singh R/O Uttarkashi

3. Ksh*tij Bhutani S/O Lokesh Bhutani R/O Delhi

4. Sagar Tamang S/O Angdak Tamang R/O Nepal A/P Dehradun Uttarakhand

5. Gan Magar S/O Bakil Magar R/O Nepal A/P Dehradun Uttarakhand.

In this regard olice have taken cognizance of the matter and registered case FIR No. 02/2024 under the relevant sections of the law at P/S Atholi and investigation taken up.

Kishtwar Police extended an appeal to the public, urging cooperation and vigilance in their respective areas. Providing information on suspicious activities is crucial for taking timely action against those involved in such misdeeds.

DISTRICT POLICE DODA BOOKED (02) MOST WANTED NOTORIOUS DRUG PEDDLERS UNDER PSA (PITNDPS)

In a statement issued by District Doda Police it was told that two most wanted notorious drug peddlers namely, Surinder Kumar son of Hans Raj resident of Chakrabhati Tehsil Bhalla and Mohd Sohail @ Sohail G***a son of Mohd Aslam resident of Saraf Mohalla Bhaderwah have been booked under PSA (PITNDPS) for their active involvement in illicit drug trafficking and lodged in District Jail Bhaderwah under the order passed by the Divisional Commissioner Jammu.
The activities of the offenders are highly detrimental and a serious threat to the society being involved in number of FIRs registered in different Police Stations of DKR Range against them. It is mentionable here that Case FIR No. 76/2021 PS Batote, FIR No. 08/2022 PS Doda and No. 187/2023 PS Banihal, under relevant provisions of NDPS Act were registered against Surinder Kumar. Similarly Case FIR No. 87/2023 and FIR No. 162/2023 under relevant provisions of NDPS Act were registered against Mohd Sohail @ Sohail G***a at Police Station Bhaderwah. Both the individuals being habitual offenders were a serious threat to the local youth and their detention under PSA will definitely act as deterrence to the criminals and drug smugglers still at large and will also save precious lives of number of innocent youth of the locality.
Acting tough against drug peddlers, during the year-2023-24, Police has registered (24) FIRs against (30) offenders. Besides, (05) notorious drug peddlers got detained under PSA (PITNDPS) so far. Besides number of individuals were detained under preventive custody for their involvement in drug selling/ addiction.
Doda Police has sought cooperation from the general public and has warned the drug smugglers to desist from this black trading and other criminal activities, else stringent action as warranted under law shall be taken against them which includes detention under PSA and also attachment of property of habitual offenders.

NOTORIOUS DRUG PEDDLER HELD WITH HE**IN LIKE SUBSTANCE FROM BHADERWAH.

In a statement issued by Doda Police , a Police Party of Police Station Bhaderwah while on checking / frisking duty in Chinote area of Bhaderwah, apprehended a notorious drug peddler namely Mohd Sohail @ Suhail G***a son of Mohd Aslam resident of Sarafa Mohalla Bhaderwah and during his personal search he**in like substance (Chitta) was recovered from his possession.
In this regard, case FIR No. 162/2023 under relevant provisions of NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Bhaderwah and investigation of the case set into motion to ascertain forward/backward links and further lead during investigation.. Doda Police has continued its special drive to tighten the noose of drug peddlers as an effort to eradicate the menace of drug and has appealed the general public to cooperate with Police and provide inputs if any drug peddling or any drug addiction is noticed in their neighborhood so that action could be taken against such offenders.

Two Drug Peddlers booked under preventive detention in JK's Bhaderwah

Continuing its drive to tighten the noose of drug peddlers, Doda Police has booked two notorious drug peddlers/addicts and lodged them in District Jail Bhaderwah under preventive detention.

Giving details, Police said that number of complaints were being received at Police Station Bhaderwah that two youth namely (01) Saqib Sheikh son of Mukhtyar Ahmed resident of Rainda Bhaderwah and (02) Yaser Khan son of Shahnawaz Khan resident of Chakka Bhaderwah are habitual drug peddlers and they are also alluring the other local youth to consume drugs and getting them involved in drug addiction. Acting upon this alarming information, Police swung into action and a detailed report of their involvement in drug addiction as well as involving other youth in drug selling / addiction was prepared by Police and a Police party led by Inspector, Amrit Katoch, SHO PS Bhaderwah apprehended these drug peddlers/addicts and produced them before the Executive Magistrate Class 1st Bhaderwah where from they were sent to District Jail Bhaderwah under preventive detention. Mentionable here that Doda Police launched a special drive to eradicate the menace of drug and has appealed the general public to cooperate with Police and provide inputs if any drug peddling or any drug addiction is noticed in their neighborhood so that action could be taken against such offenders who are spoiling the life of youth and eating their vitals.

DODA POLICE ARRESTED TWO NOTORIOUS DRUG PEDDLERS WITH HE**IN FROM BHADERWAH.

In a statement issued by Doda Police, a Police Party of Police Station Bhaderwah while on checking/frisking duty at Naka Point Domail Bhaderwah apprehended two drug peddlers namely (1) Mohammad Sohail (alias Sohail G***a) son of Mohammad Aslam resident of Sarafa Mohalla Bhaderwah and (2) Arsan Malik son of Late Imtiyaz Malik resident of Qilla Mohalla , Bhaderwah and during their search narcotic substance (he**in) was recovered from their possession. Moreover a bike bearing Regd No. JK06-B 0196 belonging to accused Arsan Malik which was used for transporting the Narcotics has also been seized.
In this regard,Case FIR No. 87/2023 under relevant provisions of NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Bhaderwah and investigation has been taken up.
Pertinent to mention here that drug Peddler namely Mohammad Sohai G***a is a notorious drug peddler and was wanted by Bhaderwah Police since long. Ultimately Police succeeded in apprehending him.
Doda Police has continued its efforts under operation SANJEEVNI to eradicate the menace of drugs and make District Doda drug free.

DODA POLICE ARRESTED MURDER ACCUSED WITHIN (4) HOURS OF THE INCIDENT IN GANDOH AREA

In a statement , Doda Police said that it was learnt through reliable sources at Police station Gandoh that one Bharov Singh son of Pawan Kumar resident of Chouanry Gandoh attacked Ram Krishan son of Nand Lal resident of village Dhosa Gandoh with an axe and committed his murdered on spot. In this incident one lady namely Anju Devi wife of Chander Parkash resident of Chouanry Gandoh was also injured severely who was referred to Doda for treatment.
Immediately after the receipt of the information, Shri Adil Hussain, SDPO Gandoh and Inspr Vikram Singh, SHO PS Gandoh alongwith a Police Party rushed to the spot and after hectic efforts and tactfully arrested the accused person from high ridges of forest area.The accused person while being arrested got himself injured with the weapon of offence(axe).
An FIR No 55/2023 under sec 302,307 ,342 has been registered in Police station Gandoh and investigation set into motion.
Prima facie the incident seems to have happened on some old family disputes and grudges between two groups.Intitally there were some heated arguments on the dispute of stones extraction which later led to the incident of murdurious attack. However investigation of the case is going on and the evidence is being gathered by Police during investigation.

DC, SSP Doda tour Gandoh area to ascertain the situation after yesterday's 5.4 magnitude earthquate

Deputy Commissioner Doda Vishesh Mahajan and SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom today toured Sub Division Gandoh to ascertain the situation after yesterday's 5.4 magnitude earthquake that shook the district.

They interacted with the people, visited buildings/ houses, which have developed cracks due to the earthquake, and also took stock of preparedness by the sub divisional administration to face any challenge which may arise.

They visited Sinoo, Gujjar Basti, Kilothran, Kahara, and Sub Divisional Hospital Gandoh.

Concerned authorities have been directed to assess the damages in the private houses and shift the families if required to the safer places. On the cracks developed in the SDH Gandoh and other Government buildings including some schools, DC has directed the Sub Divisional authorities to undergo safety audit of all the buildings and submit the same for taking a further call in this regard.

It was reported that there is no loss to life in any part of the district. However, some houses/ buildings have developed cracks due to heavy jolt of the earthquake. It was further reported that the infrastructure for essential services like PHE, Electricity etc is intact. The departments have been asked to synchronise their efforts, remain in their jurisdiction, and provide adequate and quality serves to the public.

DC and SSP were accompanied SDM Gandoh, SDM Thathri, SE PWD Doda,Xens, SDPO Gandoh and other officers.
