Omar Kakroo Urges Authorities to Ensure Essential Services during Ramdhan.

Baramulla,1st, March :

As the holy month of Ramzan approaches, Umar Kakroo, Ex-President of Municipal Council Baramulla and District President of DPAP Baramulla, has appealed to the authorities to ensure uninterrupted essential services, particularly electricity, to the people of Baramulla.

Kakroo emphasized that the government should take necessary measures to provide a steady supply of electricity, especially during Sehri and Iftari times, to facilitate the devotees. He also urged the authorities to ensure that all street lights are functioning properly to maintain public safety .

In addition to electricity, Kakroo stressed the importance of ensuring adequate water supply, healthcare services, and public transportation during the month of Ramzan. He requested the authorities to make necessary arrangements to prevent water scarcity and ensure that the public has access to clean drinking water.

Kakroo also appealed to the people of Baramulla to cooperate with the authorities in maintaining peace and harmony during the holy month. He emphasized the need for unity and brotherhood among the people, regardless of their caste, creed, or religion.

As the Ex-President of Municipal Council Baramulla, Kakroo has been actively working towards the development and welfare of the people of Baramulla....

*Two arrested for robbing Rs 19.51 lakh from J&K bank in Kishtwar*

Jammu — Two men were arrested for allegedly robbing Rs 19.51 lakh from a bank in Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar district, a police officer said on Thursday.

Senior Superintendent of Police (Kishtwar) Javaid Iqbal Mir said Rs 14 lakh of the looted money was recovered based on the disclosure of the arrested persons.

On February 3, a complaint was received from the branch manager of the Jammu and Kashmir Bank in Dachhan, reporting a robbery of Rs 19,51,600 (Rs 19.51 lakh) by unidentified individuals.

An FIR was registered at Dachhan police station and an investigation initiated, Mir said.

A special investigation team was constituted that cracked the case and arrested Mohd Yasin of Sounder and Bilal Ahmed of Lidhri, Dachhan, and recovered Rs 14 lakh, he said.

Further investigation is underway to recover the remaining amount, he added.

The accused burnt their clothes, shoes and bag containing the cash with the intention to destroy evidence, the officer said. — (PTI)...

Baramulla successfully organized a one-day skiing competition at Gulmarg,
attracting nearly 50 enthusiastic participants from all districts of North Kashmir.
The event was a testament to the organization's commitment in promoting
sportsmanship, community engagement, and healthy activities among the youth.
The event was attended by distinguished guests including Chief guest Shri
Maqsood Ul Zaman-IPS, DIG North Kashmir, SSP Baramulla Shri Gurinder Pal
Singh-IPS, officers of Gulmarg development authority, Tourism department and
Youth Services & sports etc. Speaking on the occasion, DIG North Kashmir Shri
Maqsood Ul Zaman-IPS extended warmest welcome to the honorable guests,
participants, supporters, volunteers, and spectators. He emphasized the
importance of community engagement, sportsmanship, and healthy activities
among the youth. He added further that as a police officer, our goal is not only to

Baramulla Police Observes Thana Diwas Across the District.

Baramulla Police successfully observed the Thana Diwas across various jurisdictions, including Police Stations viz Uri, Sheeri,Kreeri,Kunzer, Tangmarg, Boniyar as well as Police Posts in Palhallan, Kungamdara,Udoosa, Kamalkote and Babareshi.

The events were chaired by Gazetted Officers of the district, accompanied by concerned SHOs and other police officials. During the sessions, officers actively listened the public grievances, assuring participants that legitimate issues related to policing would be addressed promptly & the matters concerning the Civil Administration were noted for referral to the respective departments for immediate redressal.

Speaking at the events, SDPOs highlighted efforts to revamp grassroots-level policing, aimed at improving operational efficiency and fostering public confidence. They emphasized that Thana Diwas serves as a vital initiative to bridge the gap between the police and the public, enabling the redressal of grievances while promoting community policing to enhance trust and collaboration.

Addressing criminal activities in the region, the officers sought the cooperation of participants in eradicating the social evils prevailing in the society especially menace of drugs. They reiterated the importance of maintaining the dignity of the force and serving society with dedication.

*Winter Vacation Likely To See Extension; Educational Min to Hold Vital Meeting for Final Call Tomorrow*

Srinagar,26, February:

Amid inclement weather, government is likely to extend winter vacation for schools till March 5 in the Kashmir division.

Education Minister, Sakina Itoo,said that the government will hold a meeting in this regard tomorrow.

“Keeping in view the prevailing weather conditions, we are going to hold a meeting tomorrow regarding the extension of winter vacations for schools in Kashmir division,” Itoo said.

The minister further said keeping in view the health and safety of students, they will take a decision accordingly

“If weather conditions do not improve, we may consider five days extension in vacation for primary level classes and in case there is more snowfall, we will consider extending the vacation till March 5 for all classes,” she said...

*Railway Police Seize 5 Pistols from J&K-bound Train*

Srinagar, Feb,27:

In a major success, Railway Police seized five pistols and ten empty cartridges from an unclaimed from a Jammu and Kashmir bound train in Pathankot.

An official told that an unknown bag was seized in Malwa train and during confiscation, the GRP team recovered five pistols and ten empty cartridges at Pathankot Cantonment Station.

"The train, Malwa Express, was going from Delhi towards Jammu and Kashmir," the official said.

"A case has been registered in this regard for further investigations," the official added.
