Let’s talk about Imposter Syndrome..
There’s sometimes Panic that I hide behind my smile.
It’s been 4.5 years since I started taking workshops, being on the stage talking about sustainability, attending awards etc.
But every single time, I feel like an IMPOSTER!
Every single time, I feel like I don’t know enough.
2 years ago, because of this FEELING, I got myself certified as an Environmental Manager from a prestigious college like IISc.
Meaning, I learnt the theory too. And yet…
I still feel like I don’t know ENOUGH.
I always come to the verge of cancelling the event or workshop or so, because I just DON’T think I’m good enough or that I won’t be able to deliver well.
My partner knows how much I panic before leaving for any event where I’m supposed to EDUCATE…feeling intimidated by the ones I’ll be sharing the stage with..
I’m going for Therapy currently to help myself stay focused and not feel like I’m NOT GOOD enough.
The worst thing is that once I start talking, I forget everything and become super passionate about Sustainability.
Meaning, the events, the workshops end up becoming successful.. and yet…
I tend to focus on the failures.☹️
I have so many of you asking me when I’ll be having my ‘Secondhand Expertise Workshop’ and all thanks to feeling that it will be failure, I’m still stuck on CREATING the workshop.
I’m sorry that I’ve not been able to deliver on time.
My anxiety and fear of failure(due to experience of failure) has kept me waiting for the right moment.
❓Do you feel similarly about your own work or field or work?
What do you do about this Imposter Syndrome?
P.s. I’m ever grateful for EACH opportunity that I get.
Classic ‘Scaremongering’- your thoughts?🤔
This was posted by hilife_wellness who have blocked me now.
I’ve been finding misinformation like this around the internet, making people who are unaware of menstrual cups think it’s dangerous.
Like ANY PRODUCT, menstrual cup also isn’t perfect and TSS has been seen in a tiny percentage of women. Mainly caused by keeping the cup in too long.
But comparing the silicone in menstrual cup to a baby nipple?😒🫨
WHAT?
It is crazy!
The worst thing is that THIS BRAND sell organic disposable sanitary pads and to be able to sell more of their products, they need to do some SCAREMONGERING!

Tips for BLACK FRIDAY SHOPPING🛍️
1. Hunt for SECONDHAND treasures as you’ll be giving them a longer life. A few options for you are:
- @therebirthcollective
- @rewear.in
- @relove_in
2. Shop from eco-friendly brands as they use sustainable materials, pay fair wages and work towards reducing their impact on the environment. Options are:
- @okhai_org
- @silaistudio
- @dwijproducts
- @moora.jaipur
- @theindianpeacock
- @theloom.in
- @teoriindia
- @hoomanwear
- @thetamarindchutney
- @whysobluelove
3. Follow the 1 - out - 1 - in RULE. Meaning when you’re buying a new one, you make sure that you’re selling or giving one away too. So that there’s never excessive clothing in our wardrobe.
4. COUNT your Clothes. Record the number of tops, dresses, jeans, palazzos, churidars, Kurtis etc you have. Trust me, it will CHANGE your mindset. Just seeing the extent of your hoarding helps you focus on buying less.
- Repair the Clothes.
You know those Churi bottoms with a hole at the bottom, or those blouses without the hooks? Repair them. It will cost you less than a new one. So do that instead.
6. EXCHANGE with your friends. If you have friends or family YOUR size, then exchange the clothes that you’re bored with, with the ones that they’re bored with. So both of you get new clothes and give them a new life too.
7. Stay AWAY from FAST FASHION BRANDS. This includes @hm @zara @asos @uniqloin @shein_in @forever21_in @myntra @myzudio etc. THOSE don’t pay fair wages, have new collections too frequently and sometimes even use sweat shops for their needs.
So this #BLACKFRIDAY choose to be mindful and ONLY buy if you really NEED something. And if you want to satisfy your ‘wants’, choose 1 or 2 instead of half a dozen.
Let’s #shopsustainable this time!

Chitchat with Skincare & Makeup Routine! (All products I’ve used are VEGAN)
When I was growing up, repairing was the NORM.
Whether it was clothes or shoes or household items, if it was damaged in any way, the obvious thing to do was get it REPAIRED.
But today, the norm has become REPLACING.
We don’t find as many cobblers or tailors (who repair) or even repair persons as we had earlier.
Because our lifestyles of TODAY demand for lesser repair and more of REPLACEMENT.
Meaning often times products that could have lasted much longer, gets discarded because YOU don’t want to get it repaired.
How sad is THAT?
Let’s bring back the practice of repair and make it the NORM!
🔂 SHARE this video so more people REPAIR before they REPLACE!

Yay or Nay for Dog Licks?🐶
I always look forward to the licks. And I haven’t had any bad skin breakouts because of it EVER.
This is how I spend my 33rd Birthday.
I went to Alai Rescues in Bangalore, with my family. I also sponsored the whole day meal for all the animals at the shelter (including large animals too) which is a significant amount as there are over 600 animals there.
They have over 540 dogs and several large animals like horses, cows etc. They need an amount of around 3 Lakhs per month to be able to look after all these animals.
There are breeded discarded dogs, breed dogs who were the runt of the litter, house dogs who were abandoned, Indie dogs who have met with accidents and diseases and so many more.
The sad thing is how someone can come there, cry seeing them and hearing their stories and then go back and buy from a breeder, with no shame. Yes, that’s happened.
I honestly cried too. Because I am an empath and seeing them all, seeing their love and knowing that I’m unable to give them all a loving home made me cry.
The love they shower upon you is so pure. And yes, I was also showered with some pee too.😬 But I’ve never cared about that. My clothes can be cleaned. But their excitement pee shouldn’t be blamed for it.
If you’ve known me long enough, you know that my ultimate goal in life is to be able to have a farm and that is solely to be able to give a loving home to many many animals and space for them to run and play.
I hope to someday be able to adopt more Indie dogs and give them the love they deserve.
I also plan to make this a birthday ritual too. To sponsor the meal of the day and go and spend time with these babies.
And thus my 33rd birthday turned to be the best in a long time.
❓How would you spend your perfect birthday?

Straw or straw-less for you?
I personally like straws, especially when drinking thicker drinks.
And I’ve been carrying my steel straws EVERYWHERE! For myself and even for my friends.
What about you?
I’ve even found a few places in Bengaluru that serve in banana/coconut leaf straws which have no plastic in them, unlike paper straws.
Hence say NO to paper or plastic straws as much as possible!

Easy Recipe👇🏽
- 400g Apples (approx 4 medium sized ones)
- 1 cup Brown Sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 Tsp Lemon juice
- Peel the skin of the apples well.
- Cut the apple into tiny pieces(the smaller the easier).
- Pour the sugar onto the apple.
- Mix very well.
- Keep the sugared apple inside the fridge for a minimum of 4 hours or overnight.
- After the stipulated time, the water in the apple may have come out creating a sugar syrup with it.
- Start cooking this mixture while adding the water.
- Cook until the apples are softened, which is around 5-10 minutes.
- Use a hand blender or a potato masher to mash the apple pieces.
- You can either mash it up completely or keep a few pieces like I did, depending on personal preference.
- Cook it further for 5 more minutes in medium flame.
- Add the lemon juice and mix well.
- Cook for 5 more minutes and turn off the flame.
- The apple preserve is ready to use!
- Make sure to keep it in the fridge when it’s come down to room temperature.
- It can last in the fridge for upto 3-4 weeks.
P.s. You can even add a pinch of cinnamon while making the preserve. I did not have the powder at the time, and hence had not included it.
So make your own preservative-free APPLE PRESERVE with just 4 ingredients!
Since now is Apple season, the more you can make and have at home!

Comment with a 🍅 if you love Tomato soup!
For years, I used to feel bad that I couldn’t have anything hot to drink while travelling in train. As a Vegan, the tea and coffee was a big No-No.
And then came the Tomato Soup that was made as frequent as the tea/coffee. 😬
And now I have my own drink to choose.
Best thing is to ask for the soup in your own tumbler, and hence not wasting a paper cup(with plastic lining) or a plastic spoon(which though banned by the government, is still being used BY the government).
So if you’re a vegan, you don’t have to feel left out anymore.
yaay to that!
P.s. the collapsible tumbler is from @ullisu.store
❓What’s another Vegan food that you love that you get in the train? Mine is Pazhampori or Banana Fritters.
