As artists and organizations committed to keeping cultural borders open, The Federation and its participants voice our support for this past week’s efforts to bring Feras Fayyad, Kareem Abeed and the rest of the creative team behind the Oscar-nominated documentary Last Men in Aleppo to the United States for this Sunday’s . While we are heartened to see these individuals have been granted visas, we are dismayed that countless other artists remain barred from entering the country due to the administration’s inhumane ban prohibiting travel from Syria and seven other countries.

We believe that free and creative expression is not only a fundamental tenet of our democracy, but a critical instrument for protecting human rights around the globe. We support The Academy, these artists, and all those who continue to fight for open cultural exchange as a means to advancing peace and our shared humanity today.

Emmy Award Nominated
So happy for Jason and Alice!

"When I Walk" has been Emmy award nominated for this years Outstanding Informational Programming - Long Form category for the News and Documentary Emmy awards. In 2014, the film was the season opener for their much-anticipated PBS/POV. This years Emmy awards will be on September 28th at the Geffen Hall in the Lincoln Center, New York City.

The award nomination will help get the film seen by more people around the world with MS and other disabilities.

The film will be once again available for streaming on POV starting on September 14th:
