In view of the upcoming National Assembly elections, Sunamganj-1 (Dharmapasha-Tahipur-Jamalganj-Madhyanagar) constituencies.

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) nominated former president of Sunamganj Government College and Jamalganj Upazila Chhatra Dal, current general secretary of United Kingdom 'Lawyers Forum' and former joint general secretary of United Kingdom BNP barrister Hamidul Haque Affindi Liton held an exchange meeting.

An exchange meeting was held at Sachna Bazar, Jamalganj upazila's traditional bottala at 3 pm on Friday.

The meeting was presided over by BNP leader Abdul Wahab, former Acting Chairman of Sachna Bazar UP and moderated by BNP leader Manjurul Haque Affindi.

Barrister Hamidul Haque Affindi Liton, candidate of BNP for Sunamganj-1 seat, spoke as the chief guest.

PFG exchange meeting and harmony rally with administration in Shantiganj

Shantiganj Peace Facilitator Group held an exchange meeting with Shantiganj upazila administration and police administration to maintain peace and harmony at all levels. Later, a harmony rally was held at Shantiganj Point on the initiative of PFG and Shantiganj Police Station.

Shantiganj Upazila Assistant Commissioner Bhumi Md. Fazle Rabbi Chowdhury presided over and former joint secretary of Shanti Ganj Upazila BNP Peace Ambassador Ziaur Rahman Zia gave a welcome speech in the meeting held by the Area Coordinator of The Hunger Project MIPS Project Nazmul Huda Meena.

The speakers said, there is no peace if harmony among us is destroyed. We need to build relationships. If we can spread this issue among common people in different places like markets, mosques etc. then it will work.
We were born in this country, we will live in this country. So we will continue to try to live in peace. The fact that PFG has leaders from different factions means tolerance. This harmony will exist if we have political dialogue and religious dialogue as much as possible. So that, whatever happens, we can be united in the affairs of the country. Islamic Relief World Children's Day celebration in Dirai

Islamic Relief Bangladesh celebrated World Children's Day at Dirai in Sunamganj. On the occasion of the day, Islamic Relief Bangladesh organized a game drive for the orphan students of Dirai Upazila. 50 orphan students participated in the learning project.

Among the participants, Sriparna Roy Tushi came first, Syeda Eka Begum came second, Amit Hasan came third. Surya Roy Tushi became the first, Hasan Ahmed became the second, Fahmida Akhtar Jui became the third in the numerical race competition. In the chair setting competition, Aima Begum won first, Marjana Akhtar won second, Tahmida Akhtar won third. Swarna Roy won first in poetry cover and song, Priya Akhtar won second, Humaira Akhtar won third.

At the end of the competition, a discussion meeting and prize distribution was held at the Purb Dirai Government Primary School ground. Shafiq, convenor of the Fishermen's League, was arrested in the case of sabotage in Jamalganj

Jamalganj police arrested Shafiqul Islam Bhuiyan, convenor of Fishermen's League, in a case of sabotage in Sunamganj's Jamalganj upazila.

On Sunday morning, he was arrested in front of the dealer's house in Jamalganj.

Shafiqul Islam is the son of Fazlul Haque Bhuiya of Sangbadpur village of Sadar Union of Jamalganj Upazila. He is the convener of Jamalganj Upazila Fisheries League.

The meeting was chaired by Abdul Qairoom, coordinator of Vishwanath Youth Ambassador Group at Ten Minutes English Institute at Haji Gani Plaza on Sunday. Chief guest Heseb was present, BNP Ambassador of Vishwanath PFG Monayem Khan, special guest was Badrul Islam Mohsin, coordinator of Vishwanath PFG.

সুনামগঞ্জের জামালগঞ্জ উপজেলার সদর ইউনিয়নে হঠাৎ অগ্নি কান্ডে বসত ভিটা সহ ৩ টি গরু ও ৩ টি ছাগল আগুনে পুড়ে চাই হয়েছে বলে জানান স্থানীয়রা। মঙ্গলবার দিবাগত রাত ৮ ঘটিকায় ঘটনাটি ঘটে সদর ইউনিয়নের কামলাবাজ গ্রামের মৃত আব্দুল জব্বার এর ছেলে হানিফ মিয়ার (৫৫) বসত ঘরে। স্থানীয়রা ফায়ার সার্ভিসকে ফোন দেওয়া হলে আগুন নিয়ন্ত্রণে নিয়ে আসে।
