1. Weight Loss
When your goal is weight loss, the emphasis is often on improving cardiovascular health, maintaining muscle mass, and increasing overall calorie expenditure.

Reps and Sets: Focus on higher reps (12-15+) with moderate weights. This approach helps in increasing muscle endurance and calorie burn.
Weight Choice: Choose a weight that is challenging but allows you to complete all reps with good form. The last few reps should be challenging but not impossible.
Frequency: Incorporate strength training 2-3 times a week. Combine this with cardio for overall fat loss.
2. Muscle Gain
For muscle gain (hypertrophy), the focus is on progressively overloading the muscles to stimulate growth.

Reps and Sets: Aim for moderate to low reps (6-12) with heavier weights. This range is ideal for muscle growth.
Weight Choice: Choose a weight that is heavy enough to cause muscle fatigue within the target rep range. The last few reps should be difficult to complete with good form.
Frequency: Train each muscle group 2-3 times a week, with enough recovery time between sessions.
