Days I wondered if I could handle what life was asking from me.

Leadership isn’t a title , it’s a decision.
Most people think leadership is about power.
It isn’t.
It’s about taking responsibility even when you have no authority.
When I joined the ERP setup at BPCL, I was raw and new , just certified in Project Systems.
I wasn’t heading any setup then, but was only part of the senior team.
During one meeting , crisis in the Masters team’s crisis became the main topic. Complaints were rising, material preparation was getting delayed, revenue loss was mounting, and operations were slipping into chaos.
As everyone looked around, I heard myself say, “I will resolve this.”
I knew nothing about marketing set up or master data. But I had determination.
Step by step, we brought order to the disorder.

We built the first Master Governance system in the Indian oil industry , a benchmark later showcased in many forums, visited by other oil majors, and celebrated for saving crores while giving clarity and time freedom to. teams
That experience changed my understanding of leadership forever.
Here are the 5 deep lessons it left me with:
→ Leadership is not positional. It’s intentional.
→ Courage often precedes confidence, not the other way around.
→ True leaders don’t wait for perfect knowledge; they start with conviction and learn on the way.
→ When you focus on solutions, people start focusing on you.
→ Real impact comes not from authority, but from authenticity and accountability.
That day, I was not heading any team in ERP, but I became the leader everyone could trust.
Leadership begins the moment you stop waiting for permission and start owning the problem.

When Mistakes and Failures Become the Teacher
📌 Mistakes aren’t roadblocks ;they’re mirrors showing us how far we’ve come.
📌 My first lessons came from crafting jewelry for Gehnaa.
I wasn’t from the fashion world, but I created with clay, beads, and thread ;and made every mistake possible!
Yet, each wrong design taught me humility and patience.
📌 When I began writing, I tried too hard to sound “author-like” ;until I realized that truth was my real tone.
My best writing happened when I stopped polishing my pain.
📌 As a coach, I learned that leadership isn’t about giving answers ;it’s about listening with empathy.
📌 And when I entered the digital space, I made mistakes that made me laugh later ;crashing websites, vanishing videos, even deleting a landing page after six days of work!
But I rebuilt it that same night. Because sometimes, resilience just means hitting “restart.”

They weren’t detours. They were divine directions.

In that one still image, I saw it all
Joy. Anger. Fear. Wonder. Calm.

Nine emotions. Navarasas
Nine reflections of the human experience.

That’s when it hit me ; leadership isn’t about logic.
It’s about emotion.

The best leaders don’t just speak.
They move people.

And they do it by mastering what most communicators ignore , the 9 Rasas.
Every message you deliver carries emotion.
But few leaders know how to use emotion with intention.
