AOI (American Oncology Institute) marks World Cancer Day 2022
National, Feb 4, 2022: World Cancer Day is observed on February 4, every year. It is an initiative under which the entire world unites to fight against the global cancer epidemic. Cancer has become one of the primary causes of death in India. The cancer cases in the country are likely to increase to 15.6 lakhs by 2025 — a 12% increase from current estimated cases — based on current trends, according to the National Cancer Registry Programme Report 2020.
This World Cancer Day, American Oncology Institute (AOI), South Asia’s leading chain of cancer hospitals launched a campaign to bring out a crucial and important aspect of Cancer journey. Through this campaign AOI is highlighting the importance of mental support needed to the cancer patients to make them feel that they are not alone in the fight against Cancer. When family, friends, and the treating experts rally around the patient, it gives them the emotional strength to cope and get on faster to the road to recovery.

Today on 30th January President Jammu And Kashmir Saaf Suthra Movement J&K Mr Shouqat Ali Choudhary Has said in its press statement that The condition of the Jagti to Shibba Bamyal road has been the same for the last seventy years. Why do it cost crores of rupees for black toppings and road maintenance but they are standing on the slopes just by name.

An area just a few steps away from the city of Jammu, but the situation is so bad. 73years after independence, these people are still suffering from the dilapidated condition of the road.

The old governments did nothing but show them a green garden in their dreams.

I would like to draw the attention of the Lieutenant Governor Jb M K Sinha Sb especially to the issue of providing basic facilities to the people

Rare Lung Cancer Surgery successfully performed at American Oncology Institute at ASCOMS Hospital, Jammu
Jammu, - In continuation to its promise to provide best cancer care and treatment, American Oncology Institute at ASCOMS Hospital, Jammu has achieved yet another milestone when a team of surgical oncology surgeons lead by Dr. Sujeet Bhat and Dr. Avinash Rajra and assisted by Vishal and Abhilash performed a rare and first of its kind Lung Cancer Surgery on a patient aged over 61 years.
Kumar (name changed), a chronic smoker who had developed a cough and chest pain was identified with a mass on the right lung.On further investigation, the patient was diagnosed with lung cancer in the middle lobe of the right lung.
Due to Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Kumar was having low Hemoglobin and Albumin Levels. He was prepared pre-operatively with blood transfusion and albumin infusions. During the surgery it was found that the patient has dense adhesions of lungs with the chest wall due to chronic smoking. But, with the expertise of Surgical Team of AOI Jammu, the surgery was accomplished successfully.
Post-operatively patient was managed in ICU by the critical care team and was shifted to the ward on next day. Patient recovered well and was satisfactorily discharged on 7th post-op day.
