Kathleen Connors sings “Wexford”
Kathleen Connors singing “Wexford” alongside Steven, who is Pecker Dunne’s son.
Pecker Dunne wrote the song about his time in Wexford as a travelling man. The song explores the discrimination travellers faced while living in the town and how many people misunderstood them. It talks about the harsh realities that some travellers and families face. The song also explores the pride that Pecker had for his father.
“And though I often felt his fist, he thought me all I knew….”
