Kerry College's Broadcast Production Skills Course is proud to present "DIRECTING 101" with Bethany Rooney.

In this exclusive four-part online workshop, participants will first discover who they are as storytellers, and then begin to work on breaking down the skills needed to become an excellent visual Director.

Class 1 June 6 What makes a storyteller?

Class 2 June 13 The basics of storytelling

Class 3 June 20 Breaking down scenes

Class 4 June 27 How would you shoot this scene?

This course is created for the Broadcast Production Skills Course
@ Monavalley Campus but we can allow a limited number of places to new and intermediate Directors from outside the course. If you wish to be considered, please email - [email protected]

Dates are locked but times TBC (normally between 4-7pm Irish time)

As well as being a busy Director, Bethany currently teaches the Warner Bros, NBC/Universal & DGA Directors' courses.

Hi Folks,

Consider this a "pre" expression of interest call out!

We are looking at running an EVS course in the near future.

Depending on the demand it will either be an operator's or a technician's course...or maybe both.

At this stage we are just trying to gauge interest. There is no real previous experience required but if this runs, and has demand, the funding body will have to make decisions on the suitability of the candidate.

Over the last 10 years we have been so lucky with the calibre of instructor that we have welcomed to Kerry College - Monavalley Campus. This week we ran the "pilot" for the David Taicher Camera Operators' Course. Before I get emails, this course was run exclusively for my Broadcast Production Skills course...we will run this later for Industry (subject to demand and Instructor availability). But I will say if you are a Camera Op, DP or Director this course is for you. A no nonsense blocking and coverage Masterclass with practical solutions for single and multi-cam shooting. David delivered an amazing week.

Expression of Interest time again Folks.

We are aiming to run a "DMX programming for beginners"
in August.

The plan is to run a 2 day introduction course to include:

* What is DMX
* DMX wiring / cables
* DMX wireless inc Luminair & Blackout
* DMX addressing
* DMX system design and practice
* DMX implementations such as ArtNet, RDM and sACN
* Common problems and fault finding in the field.

We are delighted to be working with SLR Grip & Electric to deliver this course.

Dates: AUG 2023 (TBC)
