Brian Sheridan Photography I am a Photographer based in Naas, Co Kildare, Ireland. I specialise in Landscapes, Seascapes and Animal portraits, printing them on fine art paper. Donegal.

My passion for photography began many years ago as a young boy. I have fond memories of taking pictures with a little plastic camera while spending the summer months in my grandmother’s home in Co. The memory and excitement of collecting the prints at the local pharmacy stays with me to this day. My passion for photography continued with me into later life as I progressed from the little plastic c

amera to more sophisticated models. I eventually purchased an SLR and a whole new world opened up for me. I was essentially self-taught, with a little help from reading every photography book and magazine I could lay my hands on. I found that I had taken my photography as far as I could by myself. I could visualise images that I wanted to create but I knew that I was not getting the result that I dreamed of. So in 2002 I went back to college and studied professional photography at Griffith College, Dublin. This resulted in me beginning on a whole new journey. When I graduated I felt that I was now on the path to realising the dream of making images that I had visualised and could now be proud of. Over the years I have ventured into the many photography genres, from portraiture to commercial to fashion but my true love lay with Landscape, Seascapes and Urban. I am truly blessed to be in living in Ireland, such a beautiful country. For me to put on my hiking boots, load up my camera equipment and head out to places like Connemara, Donegal or Kerry to take pictures, is like being in heaven! To later do some post processing work on the pictures and then get a print on fine art 100% cotton paper from the printer takes me back to the time when I first took a print from the chemical trays in the dark room in Griffith College and further back to when I was that little boy in Donegal collecting the black and white prints from the pharmacy. That is why I love my work. The ultimate joy for me then is to see one of my pictures hanging on the wall of somebody’s home.

I was up early this morning doing some framing. The pumpkin picture is now framed. The rustic style frame is just right for this image. PS, I’m sure the eagle eyed among you noticed the clock is showing ‘the bewitching hour’ 😱👻😳😜

Just a seasonal themed still life image I created earlier. I just love the colours of this time of year.

I haven’t been to west Cork in some time but I’m glad I headed down that way last week. Wow! What a beautiful part of Ireland.

Do you remember this guy ? Yep, it's Murphy from a post some weeks back. Well I've now got him printed, framed and hanging on my wall. I printed him on Hahnemuhle 100% cotton Rag fine art paper. The inks used are pigment inks of very high quality that will never fade in a life time. With the cotton rag and the pigment inks, the result is a beautiful print with an amazing and perfectly smooth transition of tones and shadows. The frame moulding was specially ordered in from Italy. It has a beautiful antique style, with the tones perfectly matching the tones of the print. I've used a high quality non-reflective glass with a UV protection of 70% I think Murphy deserved all this special treatment ! 😉

I've been asked many times this week if I finally got Molly to stop running, settle down and sit for her portrait. Well to put you all out of suspense, of course she did ! Molly was a little star. I've attached two pics below for the disbelievers. I can hardly believe it myself : )

If pigs could fly...........Well I don't know about pigs but this little girl can. This little tornado is called Molly. One member of Molly's family said "good luck with getting her to sit for you". I love a challenge. I'v had all sorts of photography challenges over the years, lively dogs, cats, babies, inebriated uncles at weddings etc. etc, so I thought, little Molly will be no problem. Well.....she was.......at first. Molly loves to run, and run, and run, and boy can she move. I'm talking greyhound speed. Molly was just expressing herself I thought, so it's up to me to capture her personality with my camera. I think I got it !
Thanks for the challenge Molly : )

This big handsome guy is Murphy. He came across from Liverpool to have his portrait taken. I couldn't believe his size, the broad chest, the depth of his chest and his height. Wow ! ....what a model, with all of that and his noble stance.
Murphy was great fun to work with and such a gentle soul.
I was ably assisted by George (dog handler) and Chantel on lights. Tks. for a great day guys.

Hi Everybody,
This little guy was another recent caller to my studio. By golly he was a handful but it was great fun. His name is Blue and he is a Blue roan Cocker Spaniel. For 12 weeks old he was a very smart little man. I'm looking forward to having Blue back for all his mile stone events in the coming years. There are two images attached, one with a mottled grey background and the other with a high key pure white. Let me know which you prefer

Well Luna wanted more studio time and back she came. I think all the attention she was getting was starting to go to her head. She waltzed in all full of confidence, looking a million dollars. I diplomatically persuaded her to tone it down a little and let her keep the pearls on 😁

Just like humans dogs have different personalities. Bently is very shy and reserved but this is Tori and Tori is sooo different. She is such an extrovert and always up to mischief. I can't wait to spend some time with Tori in the studio and elsewhere capturing this full on pocket rocket. Wish me luck......I'm goin to need it. : )

This little guy is called Bently. To say that Bently is a little shy around people is an under statement. I was on a completely different assignment when he wandered into my view. How could I resist that face ?
I hope to have Bently the centre of attention with his own booking soon but I'm not sure he shares my enthusiasm : )

I'm sad to report that our great friend Max has left this world. Max succumbed to his illness early yesterday morning. We are feeling very sad and will miss him terribly. Max was a special dog in many ways. His greatest asset was his emotional intelligence. He always knew when somebody was ill or just feeling a bit low. He would stay with them, rest his head on their lap or just lie by their feet.
We're feeling sad now but we have great memories of Max. The walks, the games, his boundless energy and his favourite ......the swimming ! Any body of water and Max was in it, barking and swimming at the same time 😂
When Max became ill he was in the fantastic care of Highfield Vets, Naas and Clane. We are so appreciative of the care he received there. I have to specially mention Vets Niamh Fagan and Maria Foy.
Niamh is a true professional. The genuine care, empathy and understanding she showed was very much appreciated. I have to say all the staff at Highfield Vets were so kind and professional. I also have to mention Fiona of MiNight Vets. Max had to spend a couple of nights in Hospital. Fiona phoned me early each morning with an update on his condition, even though she had been up all night. I could clearly hear the tiredness in her voice but she was caring enough to call me.
Brian.
