From a dairy farm in Cork to the Paris Olympics. Twenty-year old Nicola Tuthill is putting hammer throwing in the spotlight at her first games.

It’s a dream come true for Cork’s Nicola Tuthill to make her first Olympic Games at the tender age of just 20 and she chats to Deirdre Verney about her experience in hammer throwing, growing up on a dairy farm and encouraging more girls to try the hammer.

“I’d always say try every event because I started with running but ended up with throwing. Until you try it, you just don’t know if you’ll like it or if it will be the one for you.”
