Last but not least, let us introduce Sarah Chadwick, Freelance Producer.

Sarah fell into advertising by accident. She started as a temp in a company that turned out to be an ad agency, and she quickly fell in love, with the industry, with the people and with the work. She was only meant to be there for 3 weeks. She stayed 9 years, working her way up from answering the phone in Boys + Girls to producing some of Ireland’s most creative and effective work.

Sarah is passionate about fostering new talent within the industry and has recently been appointed to the executive board of ICAD. In 2022 Sarah took on her biggest challenge to date by founding her own company, Clickety Clack, created to help agencies and production teams deliver world class creative.

Next up - Kate McCullough, Cinematographer!

Following her studies at the Lodz Film School, Poland, Kate McCullough teamed up with Michael Lavelle on Ken Wardrop’s “His & Hers,” where they jointly won the Cinematography Award in World Cinema Documentary at Sundance 2010. This success launched McCullough on a run of documentaries, including “Here Was Cuba” (2013), “The Farthest” (2017), for which she was nominated for an Emmy in Lighting Design, and Thin Lizzy frontman Phil Lynott’s “Songs for While I’m Away” (2020), which picked up an “Award for Excellence” at the 2022 Guild of Television Camera Professionals, UK. She also lensed “I, Dolours” (2018), a docudrama by Maurice Sweeney, for which she was awarded the coveted Golden Frog for her cinematography at Camerimage in 2018.

She then began shooting drama where she worked on the second block for the Element produced “Normal People” (2020) with director Hettie Macdonald and won the Irish Film & Television Awards for Best Cinematography in 2021. McCullough shot the acclaimed Irish language film “An Cailín Ciúin” (“The Quiet Girl”) (2022), which won the Grand Prix in the Generation Kplus program at the 2022 Berlinale. Her exacting work on this feature has garnered her Best Cinematography at the 2022 Irish Film & Television Awards and recently earning her an Excellence Award in Cinematography at the European Film Awards 2022. More recently McCullough has teamed up again with Hettie Macdonald on her latest feature “The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry” (2023), based on the book by the same title by Rachel Joyce. McCullough is a member of the Irish Society of Cinematographers and Illuminatrix.

Meet Georgia Stevenson — Producer at BBDO Dublin and our third EDAs judge!

Having started her career in Wildlife filmmaking, Georgia swapped hares and hideouts for clients and timesheets. She’s both commercially and creatively focused as she strives to make budgets stretch as far as possible in service of the brand and the idea. She’s produced hundreds of pieces, on every imaginable platform, for hugely important Irish brands such Lidl, EBS and TNI. Her colleagues and clients know they can trust her with anything, because she's that rarest of beasts, a team player and a leader. Georgia can do just about anything. But we didn't let her write this biography. Because, she's far too modest to say any of these things about herself.

In light of the moving Covid situation and safety guidelines laid down by the government the EDA Ireland in conjunction with CPI & ICAD have decided to postpone the 2021 call for entries.

We will reassess the situation in the summer and hopefully update all interested parties on a new date for a call for entries when the situation looks more promising.

The EDA Ireland are very much behind fostering and supporting and rewarding emerging film makers. We want to thank all the committee and the attendees for their continued support. We look forward to updating everyone as soon as the situation becomes clearer and safer.

Yours sincerely,
ICA, CPI & EDA Ireland
