Offroad Monkeys is a small family business in Bavaria that has makes high quality replacement parts for Land Rover Defender and Mercedes G Class Vehicles in addition to making on-demand custom precision parts for its customers.

From greenlaning, wild camping, fishing, hill walking, surfing, windsurfing or scuba diving, your visit to Achill Island, the largest island off the West Coast of Ireland, can be as active as you want it to be. This place is one of the last wild frontiers on the western fringes of Europe and a great place to explore in your 4WD. The Island has been occupied for thousands of years and it is believed that at the end of the Neolithic Period (around 4000 BC) the island had a healthy population of between 500–1,000 people. This ancient Island has some cracking coastal and inland tracks to explore with an abundance of interesting sites to see along the way including Megalithic tombs, forts, a deserted village and the highest cliffs in Europe.

The highly-anticipated Martin McDonagh movie, The Banshees of Inisherin, has recently been showing in cinemas across the globe. Filmed on location on Achill Island and on Inishmore, Co. Australia is the driest inhabited continent on the planet; this is a dusty country with seventy percent of the Australian mainland classified as semi-arid, arid or desert. It doesn’t rain very often out there with the annual average rainfall clocking in at only 200mm or less. It can also get scorching hot with the maximum summer temperature reaching an explosive 50 degrees and with these soaring temperatures, you won’t find many people living in this harsh environment with only 3% of the country’s population calling it home.

When I lived in Australia a few years ago, one of the things I had to experience was taking my Land Rover Defender to one of the ten Australian Deserts. With so many deserts to explore in this vast land, kicking up the red dirt and the desert sands was a top priority for me. But not only that, the appeal of being so remote in my 4X4 and the likelihood of having to be self-sufficient while being away from the city was a real attraction.

Before any extensive camping or touring trip in the Land Rover I always enjoy planning for trips and completing extensive research on places that I plan to visit. For me it’s not just about visiting a location but also more importantly understanding its geography, how it got its name and of course its history. What I learned about one of these deserts, the Strzelecki desert and more importantly about the man who it was named after, completely took me by surprise.

We added the slick and lightweight Kozi Series Roof Top Tent to a Honda. Something that we have examined in the past and will do so again in the future, and a vitally important area for those of us who use our 4WD vehicles to explore remote and often difficult terrain is vehicle recovery, and specifically, self-recovery equipment that you can bring with you on your trip to help to ensure that you can recover your vehicle from a variety of possible ‘getting stuck’ scenarios. It's an obvious statement to make that 4WD vehicles needs to be serviced. Most of us do get our vehicles serviced, but not all servicing is of equal quality. We asked the experts at APB Trading Ltd. for a few quick and simple tips to keep your 4WD in good repair and motoring along.

When you get yourself a new pride and joy, the first thing you should do is read the manual in detail. This will give you lots of useful and important information about your vehicle including the correct timing/scheduling of service intervals. Knowing and setting the correct service schedule for your vehicle is important, and it is also key to set a schedule that suits your own requirements and the type of use you put your own vehicle to. Electric vehicles are popping up everywhere at auto shows around the world and at the recent New York Auto show in April 2022 things were no different. One that caught our eye was the Bollinger Motors Class 3 all-electric B2 pickup truck prototype. Early this year Bollinger changed its focus from targeting consumer customers to commercial vehicles as they saw the trend of companies actively starting to look at their existing fleets of vehicles and decisions were being made on what type of EV would suit their future needs. Basically in January 2022 they cancelled consumer orders for the eye-catching B1SUV and the B2 pick up EV.

The Evershower is a portable shower that can recycle the water (fully self-contained) or run on continuous fresh water as desired.

Use indoors or outdoors. EverShower can be set up or packed down in seconds into its own 8kg (17 lbs) suitcase. It is quick and easy to assemble and comes with instructions but it is very well designed and we found it obvious how to put it up. It needs less than 1.75 m in height if assembled in a van. The shower plugs into a 12v cigarette lighter or a battery pack and it comes with a long cable to allow you to set the shower up inside your campervan or outside of your 4wd . Just Boil a few litres of water, add it to 5-6 litres that are already in the tub and you have a warm 20 min shower.

The Engel MT-V35F 32L Portable Fridge/Freezer features the latest world-renowned Sawafuji swing motor which provides almost unbelievable cooling and power efficiency with VERY low consumption. The single-zone device can be used as either a fridge or a freezer and as a freezer can reach a temperature of -18C. The latest electronics include a built-in battery monitor and digital thermostat control which allows for easy control of temperature. Vehicle Window Guards - Secure Your Gear

A couple of issues back we had a look and ways to prevent your pride and joy from being stolen and how modern technology with apps for your phone has helped in protecting your vehicle from thieves. Sadly the trend in vehicle theft and theft from vehicles, in many countries, doesn’t look to be decreasing anytime soon, and worse still, high among the most desirable vehicles for the highly organised gangs that steal many of these vehicles to order and then ship them abroad are Land Rover Defenders and other kitted out 4×4 vehicles that we use and love. But there are other ways to increase the security of your vehicle and the gear that it contains, and some of these are in the form of window guards. We recently had a chance to try out the new Nokian Tyres Outpost AT All-Terrain tyre. Exploring some forest and mountain tracks, things often got steep and very muddy en route to our final camping destination for the evening. What can we say? DARCHE 2nd Generation 270 Awning

Following our recent trip to Germany, we got a chance to use some of the latest products added to the Landy, and one of these products was the Generation 2, 270-degree Eclipse awning. https://www.turas.tv/2022/01/the-2nd-generation-eclipse-270-awning-from-darche/ A couple of years ago DARCHE took the concept of an enclosed walled awning to an entirely new level with extended poles and the launch of the Eclipse 270°Awning.
