Friday June 21st, 2024 marks the 9th National Community Radio Day (NCRD) in Ireland. It’s the day when Craol - Community Radio Forum of Ireland – and its member stations across Ireland celebrate and recognise the work and commitment of members, volunteers and staff involved in this diverse and grassroot sector of the media.

Hosted by Raidió Corca Baiscinn, based in Kilkee Co Clare, this year’s National Community Radio Day theme is Access for All and will promote and celebrate volunteering and involvement in Community Radio especially by people who are gender diverse and persons with different abilities.

With a mix of live guests, pre-recorded interviews and live music, hosted by Raidió Corca Baiscinn with participation of community radio stations from the Craol network, this event will be broadcast live from Elliott Centre in Kilkee, Co Clare, between 11am and 5pm on Friday June 21st.

“Raidió Corca Baiscinn are delighted to have been chosen to host the 2024 NCRD and we promise a lively and packed 6 hours of broadcasting, with great guests and music. Community Radio Stations across Ireland promote and represent the communities they serve broadcasting content that is relevant to their areas, providing employment and volunteering opportunities and empowering individuals, groups, and communities to tell their own stories, to share experiences and, to become creators and contributors of media. Community Radio Delivers Social Benefits to their communities and Raidió Corca Baiscinn is committed to this” said Station Manager Máiréad O’Higgins Finnegan.

The CRAOL network comprises 21 fully licensed and 15 developing Community Radio stations. This special National Community Radio Day programme will be available to all Community Radio Stations to broadcast.

Community Radios aim to promote social inclusion, community cohesion and engagement, and to empower and support community broadcasters nationwide to deliver a Social Benefit to their communities, through active volunteerism, shared resources, good governance, diverse content, partnership and networking.

National Community Radio Day is supported by Coimisiún na Meán.

🎫Zero Limits Track Day 2024 ticketing update 🎫

Vision Sports Ireland’s Zero Limits Track Day returns on Tuesday 23rd & Wednesday 24th July to Mondello Park. The day gives participants who are blind or vision impaired, aged 13 years and over, the opportunity to drive a dual-controlled road car on the Mondello Park international circuit and take to the hot seat to become rally co-drivers alongside some of Ireland’s finest rally drivers.

Now in its fourth year, due to the ever growing popularity and the limited tickets available, Vision Sports is prioritising Vision Sports Ireland Members who have not yet attended the event previously.

First time participants are invited to complete an Expression of Interest Form online 👉https://shorturl.at/yrTxg before 1pm on 13th June 2024 to be in with a chance to purchase first-time priority tickets. The response received for first-time tickets has been overwhelming with many members who have missed out on attending in previous years expressing interest in experiencing this amazing event for the first time.

For returning participants, there will be a limited number of tickets available. In order to make the event and ticketing process as fair as possible tickets will no longer go on general sale, instead Vision Sports will be running a lottery system to provide equal access and opportunity to all members who have previously attended. If you are interested in purchasing a ticket to the event, please fill in this Zero Limits Track Day Returning Participant form 👉 https://forms.office.com/e/TMmf9dMJnA by no later than 1pm on 18th June 2024. Your entry will be added to the lottery system and, if successful, you will be given the opportunity to purchase tickets. Non-successful lottery applicants will be notified and added to a waitlist.

We are looking forward to giving a new group of people the opportunity to experience Zero Limits for the first in 2024.
