It was a real pleasure scoring the soundtrack to Screen Ireland's 'Minding Creative Minds' campaign. Minding Creative Minds is an organisation aiming to provide support to anyone working in the creative industries

Awesome work by the Sinead Farrelly and all the team at Boys & Girls. Directed and crafted by Ian McCaffrey, with Oscar-nominated Colin Farrell as our narrator, the 'Story Maker Storyboards' campaign highlights the essential support services available to everyone working in the Irish film, television, and animation industry.

Campaign is running in cinemas all year. Keep an eye out!

Short Film "Curlew"
Written & Directed by Alan Daly
with sound design, foley, music & mix by myself.

It's always a special privilege getting to work on short films, and no more so than this project. It's the closest an audio guy like me gets to being a film maker, as I'm effectively tasked with multiple roles from music to foley and lots in-between. On this particular project it was a question of sorting the audio, what ever that meant. I did my best. Hopefully, if you get to see it, you won't notice a thing! 😉

I was recently asked by a very pleasant gentleman to work on his feature film for free. I took a quick look at his website, and after taking 5 seconds of reading his bio, I respectfully declined, citing to him, his own work philosophy 😂 😂

Turns out, unbeknownst to us that Dad's Saker Falcon 'Farah', who you'll now find stuffed in the Natural History Museum in Dublin, ended up on the national banknotes of the UAE! It seems the artist directly copied a photograph of Farah that Dad took. I'll have to find the original photo, it's around somewhere. Mad or wha! Coincidentally, I happen to be working on a documentary being shot in the UAE, no connection... or is there???😮🇦🇪🧐🇮🇪

It's always humbling to get such positive feedback from clients after a project, thank you Anne Heffernan for your kind words. Anne was producer on our recently completed 4 part documentary that I wrote music for. To say she made the logistics of managing a project with so many moving parts look easy, and during lockdown, is an understatement. As director Garry Keane put it, she'd sort out the HSE, and then some. Some people just got it. The doc was commissioned by Virgin Media and should go live as part of their Autumn schedule.

Galway Film Fleadh | Ascending Grace

Streaming at this years Galway Film Fleadh is Ascending Grace, a comedy short with sound design and mix by musonic.
