Westcove harbour on the Iveragh peninsula provides shelter and year round access on a treacherous coast where many other local harbours face west rather than south.

Before the mid 19th century, the only roads to reach this remote part of Kerry took tortuous routes over the mountain to avoid the bog near the coast, and the sea would have been the easiest way of reaching the property.
During the late 17th and 18th centuries smuggling to the continent was common amongst Irish land owners to avoid crippling taxes from the English, and indeed Westcove was a perfect landing point for the widespread illicit trade in wool and alcohol🐏🍺!!

Aerial view of Lamb’s Head as it stretches far into the Atlantic. At the very western tip lies a lonely natural harbour in complete seclusion.
A wild, rugged and rocky landscape that was home to one of the 83 Look Out Costal Posts built in 1940. These posts were manned by members of the Local Defence Force (LDF). The Coastwatchers were responsible for identifying and reporting on shipping and aircraft movements and also on any communications between ship and shore. The Marine and Coastwatching Service was disbanded in October 1945.

The ruin of Derrynane Abbey sits enthroned on one of Ireland’s most beautiful beaches. The idyllic patch of land on which the ruins stand, is called “Abbey Island”. This name is somewhat misleading as there is no real island. Because of the constant silting up the ´island` is connected directly with the sandy beach of Derrynane, so you can reach Abbey Island on foot.

Most parts of the Abbey have suffered the ravages of time. Only the main building of the ancient abbey with its windows facing the sea sticks out of the ruins.

According to legend, the abbey was founded by St. Finnan in the 6th Century. Today the area is used as a cemetery.

We always love getting the drone up along the Kerry coastline 🚁.
Here, .... at Lamb’s Head on the Iveragh peninsula, it is tinged with a world's end quality ⛰. It stretches far into the Atlantic Ocean and, at the very western tip, lies a lonely natural harbour in complete seclusion. Here, you will find the Wild Atlantic Way coast showing its wildest, most rugged and rocky side. 🏞🗾😍.

A few aerial pics from a sunny Achill Island - A place that boasts some of the finest beaches in Ireland, including no fewer than five Blue Flag beaches.

This windswept Island, the largest of Ireland's offshore Islands, has attracted people to its shores for generations and now you can drive across to it. Once on the Island there is spectacular Atlantic Drive which takes one along a 40km drive that includes the best of the Islands scenery.

Definitely worth a visit..!

The coronavirus pandemic in 2020 has created unprecedented situations across the planet. Much of the world's population has been on some degree of lockdown, adhering to the social distancing, isolating, and self-quarantining measures that governments have implemented.
Limerick city’s bustling streets, its centre and parks have been silenced too ….. into a now, strangely desolate ghost town.

The eerie emptiness of our streets this week was captured from above by Technologies using a drone🚁. It was strange to experience the stillness of these public spaces, recently emptied of the crowds they were built for.

Our team at visionAir Technologies wish Limerick City and the entire world, health, and optimism as we push on through the days ahead.
Limerick is strong. Limerick is proud. We will come through this stronger. We will come through this prouder.💚🤍💚🤍

I have wanted to photograph the Rock of Cashel for a while now. Something always seemed to get in the way though…that is until last September on a glorious autumn evening when everything just aligned….even the sun!☀️☀️🌅

This is one of Ireland’s most visited sites and it is truly spectacular. It is an ancient royal site of the kings of Munster and its origins, as a centre of power, go back to the 4th or 5th centuries 🏰👑.
The spectacular group of medieval buildings set on an outcrop of limestone include the 12th century round tower, High Cross and Romanesque Chapel, 13th century Gothic Cathedral and 15th century castle. The 12th-century round tower is the oldest surviving building on the Rock. The 13th-century cathedral is a large cruciform Gothic church built between 1230 and 1270.

Two of the most famous people of Irish legend and history are associated with the Rock of Cashel - St. Patrick ☘️ whom according to legend, arrived in Cashel in AD 432 and Brian Boru, 👑 who was crowned High King here in 990. He is the only king who was able to unite all of Ireland under one ruler for any significant period of time.

Well worth a visit to the site and the guided tour is highly recommended☺️

Abbey Island at Derrynane on the Ring of Kerry. On the island lies the ruins of an abbey reputedly founded by St. Finnan in the 6th Century. Derrynane Abbey must be one of the most beautiful possible locations for a graveyard. It looks out onto the Atlantic Ocean and can only be accessed when the tide is out. Coffins are shouldered across the beach onto the burial ground on the Abbey.
There are only 3 interconnecting buildings of the abbey left, all without a roof. The main church, like the other buildings, is very overgrown and full of graves, including those of Mary O'Connell (wife of Daniel O'Connell). The three arched windows of the church are in good condition even though they are facing the sea.
It’s a peaceful place…. somewhat off the beaten tourist trails, with a history as old as time itself..

What a game of rugby tonight in Thomond Park 🏉🏉💪💪. This pulsating clash had the crowd on the edge of their seats from start to finish. VisionAir Technologies was there to sample the atmosphere and captured these aerial shots of the stadium.

Looking north along the River Shannon at the University of Limerick on a crisp cold autumn morning. Love the way the fog has formed over the water😍

Seems it’s caused when a thin layer of air above the river is warmed by the river water. Water then evaporated from the river surface into this thin layer to cause the fog🌤🚁

Doonagore Castle in Doolin, Co. Clare - A 16th Century tower house overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and Doolin Village. In September 1588, the Spanish Armada ship was wrecked just below this castle. Presently, the castle is a private holiday home.
