UNILAG student shot dead by armed robbers while attempting to retrieve his friend's stolen phone.

A 23-year-old student of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) identified simply as Adekunle, was shot d£ad by armed robbers while trying to retrieve his friend's stolen phone.

The incident happened at Harvey Road, Moore Road Junction, in the Yaba area of the state on Saturday, June 3, 2023.

According to Punch, Adekunle and his school mate identified simply as Opeyemi boarded a shuttle bus from Yaba to UNILAG and while in the vehicle, a man, who was hanging at the back of the bus, dispossessed Opeyemi of her iPhone 7 plus.

Opeyemi raised the alarm and Adekunle, in a desperate attempt to retrieve the phone from the robber who jumped down from the bus and fled, pursued him.

Now that IPOB/ESN members have been arrested for perpetrating the deadly attack on a U.S. Embassy convoy that killed multiple U.S. embassy staff and policemen, we can now understand why Oby Ezekwesili did not condemn the killings, which happened in her own state and near her own local government area, even as she is known for quickly condemn killings that occur outside the Southeast.

IPOby Ezekwesili could not condemn it because she knows where her sympathies lie. After all, dogs don't eat dogs!

This is the same Oby that danced naked in the streets when Deborah Samuel was burnt to death, but has remained silent TILL TODAY after a pregnant Northerner from Adamawa, Harira Jubril, was killed by unknown gunmen in broad daylight, with her four underaged daughters, Fatima, 9; Khadijah, 7; Hadiza, 5; and Zaituna, 2.

The same Oby that rolled on the floor in front of A*o Rock over . Yet, she never condemned the killing of Ahmed Gulak on May 31, 2021, or the multiple kidnappings and killings of civilians, military and paramilitary personnel all over the Southeast.

This is the person who falsely accused the Southwest of "ethnic baiting" against Igbos during , yet said nothing of the videos of people being attacked for daring to vote for either the PDP or Labour Party in the Southeast.

I hope the U.S. Embassy in Nigeria and the State Department in Washington, DC pay close attention to IPOby and her behaviour during this saga.

:

I like how President Bola Tinubu balanced the two most important appointments in his government between Christians and Muslims, naming George Akume, a Christian Middle-Belter, as his Secretary to the Government of the Federation, and Femi Gbajabiamila, a Muslim Southwesterner, as his Chief of Staff.
Both men have the necessary educational qualifications and political experience for the positions they are to fill. Round pegs in round holes
So far, he is keeping his promise of not Islamising his administration. So far, so good. If he derails, we will give details.
We will still meet you in court, where I hope our petition to unseat you succeeds. But for now, well done!

****Reno Omokri Writes****
Vice President Osinbajo is complaining that ₦250,000 monthly pension for him as an ex-VP is insufficient.

Then how does he expect the man earning ₦30,000 minimum wage to survive? For eight years, he chaired the National Economic Council. He never advocated for a pay rise for Nigerian workers. Now that he is about to go after attempting, and failing, to stab Tinubu in the back, he wants a pay rise. Really? Under President Jonathan, ₦250,000 was equivalent to $1300. Today, it is just $300. And instead of the man who headed Nigeria's economic management team for the last eight years to be ashamed, he is asking us to feel sorry for him and give him a pay rise. A lecturer that was picked up and dusted by Tinubu and made an "ordinary commissioner" before being made a Vice President by Tinubu. Yet, he was so greedy he wanted to drag the APC Presidential ticket with his benefactor. Now, he is looking for pity because ₦250,000 is too small for him? A self righteous fellow who was insulting former President Jonathan. What did Chinua Achebe say in Things Fall Apart? "Those whose Palm kernels were cracked for them by a benevolent spirit should not forget to be humble." Some people, sha!

TWO YEAR OLD BABY SENTENCE TO LIFE BY NORTH KOREAN PRESIDENT

North Korean Government Jails Two-Year-Old For Life After Parents Were Caught With Bible

The North Korean authorities have reportedly sentenced a toddler to a life imprisonment after his parents were found with a Bible in their home.
The shocking tale was revealed by the US State Department’s International Religious Freedom Report.
According to the report, the two-year-old and his entire family were locked up for their religious beliefs.
Several other cases of North Koreans being killed for being Christian were also included in the report, including the firing squad ex*****on of a woman and her grandchild in 2011.
Other believers faced "pigeon torture", where they were suspended with their hands tied behind their backs, unable to sit or stand for days on end.
One victim said: “It was the most painful of all tortures. It was so painful I felt it was better to die.”
Some were tortured with sleep deprivation including one woman in solitary confinement who was driven to su***de in 2020 after prison guards refused to let her sleep.
As many as 70,000 Christians have been imprisoned for their faith under the Kim Jong-un regime, of a possible population of 400,000.
The new publication said several North Korean Christians hid their faith from their children.
It cited the finding of one NGO, Open Doors USA (ODUSA), which said: “A Christian is never safe. Children are encouraged to tell their teachers about any sign of faith in their parents’ home.”
Another NGO, Korea Future, said children were taught in school about the “evil deeds” of Christian missionaries, including “r**e, blood-sucking, organ harvesting, murder, and espionage.”
The report said: “One defector told Korea Future the government published graphic novels in which Christians coerced children into churches and took them to the basement to draw their blood.”
And while most of the cases of religious persecution documented by Korea Future targeted those practising shamanism, it was Christians who typically received the harshest punishments.
It’s because they’re perceived as a “hostile class” and a “serious threat to loyalty to the state” the report said.
Officially, North Korea guarantees its people religious freedom in its constitution and the regime highlights the churches it has built in Pyongyang as proof.
But the publication said these churches operated only as “showpieces for foreigners”.
It cited the testimony of one defector, who said people could be arrested for lingering too long outside the churches and listening to music from within, or even consistently driving past them.
Ray Cunningham, from Illinois, US, visited Chilgol Protestant Church in Pyongyang during a service.
He told Pen News: “I came away wondering just how real this is.
“Are the services regular? The church seems maintained but is it a regular event? You see no evidence of religious activity in the society – except for Buddhism.
“It feels real but like many things indeed it may be somewhat of a show for tourists. In this case, it might be a mixture of showmanship and a few elderly Christians in the area.”
He also noted something highlighted in the report – no children attend the services.
He added, “The congregation was made up of older men – all seemingly over 65 – and women over 40.”

Nigerians will beg Tinubu to contest for second term, says Betta Edu

The National women leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Betta Edu, has said that Nigerians will beg president-elect, Bola Tinubu, to contest for a second term after he completes his first tenure.

The former Commissioner for Health in Cross River state stated this during an interview with Channels Television on Thursday night May 25.

“I bet on anything, Nigerians would plead with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, four years down the line, for a second term.

The first point we must understand is that Nigeria is a work in progress.

If you listen to the speech of President Muhammadu Buhari at the state banquet hall, he stated very clearly that he has fought a good fight. He said he is handing over Nigeria to someone who he believes will continue from where he stops and do better.

If you know Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, he is a deep thinker and doer. One who is very strong in terms of analysing and strategizing. I can boldly tell you for free that the next 60 days have clearly been spelt out by Tinubu — what he hopes to do, what he hopes to achieve, at what point and where.

He fully understands the task ahead of him. He is fully prepared. He wants to hit the ground running.”

The president-elect is expected to be sworn in on Monday, May 29. Global News

Disqualification Suit: Atiku Failed To Pervert Justice – Fani-Kayode Alleges

Fani-Kayode alleged that the ruling was an indication that the 2023 Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar and his party failed to intimidate or compromise the judges. Femi Fani-Kayode, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has reacted to the Supreme Court ruling on the President-elect, Bola Tinubu and Vice, Kashim Shettima.

Fani-Kayode alleged that the ruling was an indication that the 2023 Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar and his party failed to intimidate or compromise the judges.

He claimed that Atiku failed in his course to pervert justice.

Tweeting, Fani-Kayode wrote: “Atiku Abubakar and his Peoples Destruction Party’s nonsense case has finally been dismissed at the Supreme Court.

“I bet he and his team are shedding tears right now because they were unable to pervert the course of justice and intimidate or compromise the Judges.

“Once again we have won and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu comes out on top. Glory be to God!

“Let us hope that this will put to rest the rabid lust for power of the Obidients and the Atikulators.”

On Friday, the apex court dismissed the suit filed by the PDP, seeking Tinubu and Shettima’s disqualification from the 2023 presidential election.

The party was challenging Shettima’s alleged double nomination.

However, the Supreme Court ruled that the PDP’s suit was grossly lacking in merit. Global News
